Vote: Radio 2's 100 Most Played Albums

This February, BBC Four, Radio 2 and 6 Music are celebrating The Golden Age of the Album.
As part of our album season, we'd like you to pick your favourite from our list of Radio 2's 100 Most Played Albums. We have selected albums whose singles/tracks are played by Radio 2 regularly, and we've only allowed one album per artist. These are studio albums only, so you won't see any soundtracks, live shows or compilations in the list.
The vote opens at 10.00am on Friday 01 February and closes at 6.59pm on Friday 22 February.
We'll reveal the albums with the most votes in a special countdown programme at Easter. Get voting!

Vote: UK's Favourite Number Two Single

BBC Radio 2 is searching for the UK's favourite number two single, and there's two Madonna tracks in the running...Holiday and Ray of Light. Tony Blackburn will reveal the results of the vote in a Top 40 chart countdown on New Year's Day.

The winning single will be given an honorary number one award from the Official Charts Company, live on the show. Voting closes at midday on Monday 10 December.

Vote: Greatest Women in Pop Tournament (M vs. Gaga)

On Friday night, we aired the last installment of our five-part, 100 Greatest Women in Music series. If you happened to miss the countdown, it’s spoiler alert time: VH1 crowned Madonna as the greatest female artist of the last 20 years.

While it’s tough to argue with the musical legacy of Madonna, we received an incredible number of comments, emails, and tweets from our VH1 audience asking about their ability to participate in this countdown. Well, we listened and worked to put together the following bracket-style tournament of The 8 Greatest Women In Pop where you, the reader, will be able to select the most accomplished female artist in the pop music game right now.

Our tournament will run today through next Monday, February 27, and our first round matchups are pretty outrageous: Lady Gaga vs. Madonna, Britney Spears vs. Rihanna, Katy Perry vs. Mariah Carey, and Jennifer Lopez vs. Beyoncé.

Every year the MTV Video Music Awards feature some of the biggest and most memorable performances from all of your favorite artists.
Less formal than the Grammy Awards, the VMAs give artists the opportunity to let their hair down and really go out on a limb to put on some of the most daring and exciting performances of their careers. Simply put, you’re not going to see a blood-soaked Lady Gaga dangling above the stage or a wedding dress-clad Madonna climbing down a cake and rolling on the floor anywhere else.
But Madonna’s star-making turn at the inaugural VMAs and Gaga’s electrifying take on 'Paparazzi' are just two of the most iconic moments in VMA performance history. Who can forget when Sting joined Diddy, Faith Evans and 112 to pay tribute to Notorious B.I.G. with 'I’ll Be Missing You' in 1997, or when Eminem surrounded himself with lookalikes to perform 'The Real Slim Shady' in 2000?

Vote: Best '80s Video

Billboard are running an online poll to find out what was the best video in the 1980s, Madonna's iconic Like A Prayer is included in the voting list.

With the launch of MTV on Aug. 1, 1981, video took on a new role in the music world - and as the first song played on the cable network ('The Buggles' -Video Killed the Radio Star-) declared, video did, indeed, kill the radio star.
These days, music videos are standard practice for artists both big and small, and needless to say, the scale of and technology behind these clips has escalated over the years. But even back in the 1980s - what some may consider the infant age of the music video - clips like Michael Jackson's 14-minute, John Landis-directed 'Thriller,' Madonna's controversy-filled 'Like a Prayer,' and Peter Gabriel's laborious stop-motion narrative 'Sledgehammer' set the bar very high for future decades.
