Madonna Is 'Feeling Strong' and Back in Rehearsals for Her 'Most Ambitious Tour Ever'

The Queen of Pop is ready to reign again.

After being hospitalized in late June for a "serious bacterial infection," Madonna is back at work and gearing up for the launch of her Celebration Tour, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

"She returned to rehearsals last Monday. She's so happy to be back onstage and is feeling strong. She's working closely with her longtime collaborators, Jamie King and Stuart Price, to put the final touches on the show," says the source, adding that the run of shows is the icon's "most ambitious tour ever."

Late last month Madonna shared photos from a vacation to Lisbon, where she spent some downtime with loved ones before heading back for rehearsals.

The Celebration Tour will officially kick off with four sold out shows in London this October, followed by shows across Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands throughout the remainder of 2023. The Celebration Tour: More US Dates Added

With anti-LGBTQ+ legislation passing in Tennessee and other states, longtime social activist Madonna announced an additional stop on her The Celebration Tour in Nashville on December 22nd. A portion of proceeds from the show will go to trans rights organizations. In regard to the over 100 anti-LGBTQ+ bills currently before state legislatures, Madonna says “the oppression of the LGBTQ+ is not only unacceptable and inhumane; it’s creating an unsafe environment; it makes America a dangerous place for our most vulnerable citizens, especially trans women of color. Also, these so-called laws to protect our children are unfounded and pathetic. Anyone with half a brain knows not to fuck with a drag queen. Bob and I will see you from the stage in Nashville where we will celebrate the beauty that is the queer community.”

Due to overwhelming demand, in addition to Nashville, Madonna has added seven new dates to her massive global The Celebration Tour, adding shows in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Palm Springs, and Sacramento, along with a second show in Phoenix and a third show in San Francisco and Las Vegas. All new dates will take place between December 2023 and January 2024, and mark the final additional shows in North America where Madonna will perform some of her greatest hits from her unparalleled music catalogue.

Online Queue to see Queen of Pop play in London reaches 171,000 despite venue capacity of 20,000

Like many fans on Friday morning, madonnalicious endured the Ticketmaster queue for the Celebration Tour shows at London's O2 Arena.

This article from www.mylondon.news tells the story of the massive queue:

Madonna fans were left horrified by a massive digital queue to buy tickets nearly 10 times larger than the O2 Arena's actual capacity. The iconic singer and performer announced a 2023 greatest hits Celebration tour earlier this week, with just one date at the O2 in London.

General sale of the tickets kicked off at 10am (Friday, January 20) today on Ticketmaster today. However, fans are facing hot competition to nab tickets of their own.

Several users took to Twitter just minutes after the tickets went live to share where they were in the digital queue. One Tweet from user @AdamSGibson said: "@LiveNationUK how on earth can I be 170,033 in the queue for #MadonnaCelebrationTour tickets!!"

A second person Tweeted a screenshot of their queue position, showing 171,664 people ahead of them. "171K people," they added alongside it followed by a skull emoji. A third Twitter user wrote: "People currently ahead of you, 126422."

They also shared a photo showing their place in the digital queue, along with a screaming GIF. Others were left scratching their heads as how there could be that many people in line for tickets when the Greenwich music venue only has a capacity of 20,000.

User @hal9341 said: "The O2 has a 20,000 seat capacity and there are nearly 80,000 people ahead of me in the queue for Madonna tickets in London. It’s not looking promising!!!|"
