Madonna and her family's 'homecoming' trip to Malawi where 4 of her kids were born
Friday, 01 January 2021
Four of the singer's six kids were born in the African nation before she adopted them.
David Banda, 15, Mercy James, 14 and eight-year-old twin girls Stella and Estere were all born there.
Madonna, 62, also shares Lourdes, 24, with former personal trainer Carlos Leon, and Rocco, 20, with ex-husband and film director Guy Ritchie.
Proud mum Madonna snapped one of the twins gazing out of a plane window on her Instagram Stories, captioning the cute photo with "#homecoming."
Once they'd touched down, Madge filmed Mercy playing on a swing out back of their holiday digs.
And teenager Mercy lends her name to the Mercy James Institute For Pediatric Surgery And Intensive Care, run through her mum's charity Raising Malawi.
The institute operates as part of Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre, the country's second city.
It's only one of Madonna's numerous altruistic ventures.
While Malawi's land borders are closed during the pandemic, the US Embassy in the country's capital, Lilongwe, says that flights from the States are permitted.
But Americans who intend on flying in have get tested within 10 days of their flight, and may be greeted with further testing at the airport gate.
