Two more London dates cancelled

As you all know i have multiple injuries and have had to cancel shows to give myself time to recover.

So as not to surprise you i want to let you know ahead of time that I will be cancelling 2 shows - on Feb 4 and Feb 11th at the Palladium in London. because doing 3 shows in a row is too much on my body and in fact my doctors insist i take a day off after every show but i believe can manage if i do 2 shows then I rest!

Its a miracle i have gotten this far but a-lot has to do with the fact that i do 6 hours of re-hab every day. 3 hours before show and 3 after with multiple therapies.

I have also switched to flat shoes and modified difficult. parts of the show. This has helped enormously but i still need to be careful and of course rest is the best medicine.

I never want to cancel any show and Im determined that i will make it to the end if i pace myself. God Willing.

Refunds will be automatically issued to the credit card on which tickets were ordered.

Madonna review, London Palladium: An eyeball-twisting audiovisual assault with more action than a Marvel movie

Madonna wants us to wake up. Actually, she wants us to do a lot of things. Come with her to the future. Protect her from her critics. Know that she agrees that America is in turmoil and the finger is pointed at the “psychopath in the White House”. But, above all, remember that she is a provocateur and “freedom fighter” - an artist who is, in the words of James Baldwin, which are fired like gunshots on the screen to open the show, “here to disturb the peace”. And we are in her maverick world now, an eyeball-twisting audiovisual assault of cello-playing nuns and cartwheeling soldiers in gas masks, like The Two Popes meets Hamilton.

Anticipation fizzes around the London Palladium tonight, because this is the debut of the London leg of intimate shows – she cancelled her first earlier in the week due to a knee injury. It would have been hard to play her steely, eye-patched spy at half tilt: there are handstands, a bit where she slides down a grand piano like Roxie Hart and, of course, plenty of straddling her exceptional dancers. Like her 2019 album, she appears as Madame X, a bondage secret agent who threads various nods to her career through her new globetrotting mish-mash of trap, Latin-pop and Afro-Lusophone folk.

This is a show of two halves: the first is an aggressive blast of political messaging and theatre noir that is also a comment - and Madonna doesn’t do subtle - on being under attack herself. She opens with her disco ode to police violence, “God Control”, dressed in a glittering revolutionary outfit; then she’s on the run, pushed and shoved between her cast like a pantomime villain during new song “I Don’t Search I Find”, as phrases like “f*** off” flash overhead. There is more action than a Marvel movie: comic interludes, blowjob innuendos and a bizarre charity auction – during which she proclaims that “Madame X is also a saint” and a ballsy fan gets onstage to try and hand her £1000 cash (she quips that she’ll have to fire her security).

“Vogue”, meanwhile, feels fairly low impact, but other flashbacks are a reminder of her sustained influence on pop culture. At one point, her dancers and three young daughters - Mercy, Stelle and Esthere, dressed in slick Nineties fashion (now fashionable once again) - gather beside her to chorus, “I’m not your bitch” after a rendition of “Express Yourself”. You could say that it’s a cheap shot to bring her family into it, but when she sings her earth mother banger “Frozen” as her other daughter, Lourdes, dances on a projection screen around her, it’s genuinely moving.

Madonna resumes Madame X tour in London after injury as she leaves show in her dressing gown

Madonna has resumed her Madame X tour after cancelling her first night in London after being ‘plagued’ by injuries.

The singer, 61, made her return to the stage at the London Palladium - which holds just over 2,200 people, for her smallest-ever full-length concert in the UK. In order to make her performance even more special for the audience, fans were asked to store their mobile phones in sealed pouches throughout the show so they weren’t disturbed during her performance. She was later seen leaving the theatre with her rumoured boyfriend, Ahlamalik Williams, 26, who is also one of her dancers.

Following the visual extravaganza she had just given her fans, it’s no wonder she wanted to dress down and be comfortable for the ride home, and she went for a personalised Versace dressing gown with her ‘M’ logo on the back, with matching black trainers with a gold chain on them as she headed to her waiting car.

Madonna looked back to full fitness as she performed for her fans in London, after having to cancel the first show of her run in the city. She had told fans: ‘I am deeply sorry that I have to cancel my concert scheduled for Monday January 27th in London. Under doctors guidance I have been told to rest for a few days.

Madonna says infamous faux British accent was 'Guy Ritchie's fault'

Madonna has blamed her English ex-husband Guy Ritchie for the unusual faux British accent she was heard speaking with around the time they were married.

The singer reflected on her infamous articulation as she appeared on the London Palladium stage on Wednesday night as she resumed her Madame X Tour following multiple cancellations.

The BBC reports that the 61-year-old donned a British accent while speaking to the crowds before saying: 'I didn't know what anyone was talking about until I heard old interviews of myself. And then I was horrified and flabbergasted. Why did you let me do that to myself? It's all Guy Ritchie's fault,' she added.

The couple, who owned a Wiltshire estate together as well as properties in London, were married between 2000 and 2008.

Tracy Young Becomes the First Woman to Win a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording for 'I Rise'

Longtime producer Tracy Young made history Sunday night by becoming the first woman to win a Grammy in the best remixed recording, non classical category for her edit of Madonna's empowerment anthem "I Rise."

This was the first Grammy nomination for Young, a Miami-based producer who's worked with Madonna as a remixer and DJ since the late '90s. Young has also done official edits for a bevy of other pop royalty including Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Britney Spears.

'I’ve seen more and more female engineers in the studio, and I think moving forward, we will continue to be recognized,' Young told Billboard Dance earlier this week. 'This field was and still is mostly dominated by men. But it is changing. I’ve definitely seen more women DJs, and hopefully, more women will come forward and start producing. I have hope.'

While the Grammy for best remixed recording, non-classical was presented before this evening's live telecast, Young's win is a big moment for the Grammys nonetheless in a year when issues of gender inequality are swirling around the Academy and nearly every producer in the electornic music categories was male.

Madonna Madame X tour: Star cancels first London show

Madonna has said she is 'deeply sorry' for cancelling the first London show of her Madame X world tour.

The star had been due to begin a run of 15 dates at the London Palladium from this Monday.

In a statement, the singer said she had been 'plagued' by injuries since the beginning of the tour and was told by doctors to 'rest for a few days'.

She added that refunds would be given to those who had bought tickets for Monday's performance.

Madonna's Wednesday show will still take place as scheduled.

'I am deeply sorry that I have to cancel my concert scheduled for Monday 27 January in London. Under doctors' guidance I have been told to rest for a few days. As you all know I have injuries that have plagued me since the beginning of the tour but I must always listen to my body and put my health first. The last thing I want to do is disappoint my fans or compromise the integrity of my show. So I will keep going until I cannot.'

Don't cry for me Portugal - Injured Madonna cancels second show in Lisbon

Pop legend Madonna has canceled another show in Portugal’s capital Lisbon, the city that inspired her newest album Madame X, as she struggles to cope with pain from 'ongoing injuries', her tour promoter said on Wednesday.

Promoter Everything Is New issued a statement on Facebook apologizing to fans and thanking them for the 'well-wishes for Madonna’s recovery'.

'We sincerely regret the disappointment to fans due to the unforeseen and last-minute changes to the schedule,' it said.

Wednesday evening’s concert was the second show the star has canceled since kicking off her European tour in Lisbon on Jan. 12, where she has lived since mid-2017.

'Sorry I had to cancel tonight,' the 61-year-old wrote on Instagram after the first cancellation in Lisbon’s Coliseu dos Recreios venue on Sunday. 'But I must listen to my body and rest!'

According to the promoter, Madonna’s final show of the initially scheduled eight in Lisbon on Thursday is expected to go on as scheduled.

Madonna cancels Lisbon show: 'I must listen to my body'

Madonna has cancelled another show on her Madame X world tour, as she battles an ongoing, but unspecified, injury.

The star gave fans in Lisbon just 45 minutes' notice that her show on Sunday night was being called off.

'We regret to inform you that Madonna is unable to perform this evening,' an email informed ticketholders at 19:45. She had been due on stage at 20:30.

'Sorry I had to cancel tonight,' the star wrote on Instagram, 'but I must listen to my body and rest!'

It is the eighth time Madonna has had to cancel a show on her current world tour, which sees her playing smaller, intimate theatre venues.

She has not revealed the nature her injury, but told one audience in San Francisco she was suffering from a 'torn ligament' and 'a bad knee' in November.

Madonna began the current stage of her Madame X tour in Portugal's Coliseu Dis Recreios theatre on 12 January, and had seemed to be in good spirits, interacting with the crowd and drinking port on stage.

The star said it was her first drink 'in a month' and that it had 'got her through' the strenuous show.

She also joked about her '25 injuries' and told the audience 'don't pay attention to what goes on from the waist down', reported Lisbon-based music magazine Blitz.

The star also traded high heels for flat shoes during last Thursday's concert.

'They are very ugly but it was either wear these boots or cancel the show,' the star was quoted as saying by the Portuguese website Sapo.

Madonna said she hoped the tour would resume this week, writing on Instagram: 'See you on Tuesday, fingers crossed.'

Tracy Young, Madonna's Favorite DJ, Is Breaking the Grammy Glass Ceiling

Tracy Young has made herstory as the first woman nominated in the category of Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical at the Grammy Awards.

For Young - who has spent more than 25 years in the music industry, and who was recognized for her Pride radio remix of Madonna's "I Rise" - the nomination is "overwhelming."

"First of all just to be recognized, I feel like I won already," she told The Advocate in a recent interview. "If I do win, that would just be a bonus."

A win for Young would also be a major victory for women and LGBTQ people. For Young's entire career in the music industry, the lesbian DJ has worked in a field dominated by mostly straight men - particularly in music production and remixing.

This lack of representation reflects itself in her category. Since the Grammys first launched Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical in 1998 (that year, the trophy went to Frankie Knuckles, the "Godfather of House Music"), not a single woman has received a nod - a span of over 20 years.

"It's just hard for women to break through in this industry," Young said. "It's just very male-dominated and I think always been that way."

Young's commitment to her craft is one of the reasons she was able to have a breakthrough. She has worked to create remixes of hits by over 100 top artists, including Lady Gaga, Cher, Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and Madonna, with whom she has 14 collaborations. Over 50 of her tracks have reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard Club Chart Hits.

"Music for me is not an option. That's the only thing I know how to do. So it has to work for me," Young said.

Bringing in the New Year as best I can with 2 injuries! And yes Im paying for it today....... but i dont regret it because if Ive learned one lesson in life its to have No regrets!!! Ever!!!

Life is a journey, a process, and we all make mistakes and we learn from them and move on!! 2019 kicked my ass and taught Madame ❌ some very expensive lessons but she would not trade them for anything for what we risk reveals what we value...........And I am so very blessed and grateful for all the beautiful experiences and souls I have encountered and created with and fallen in love with this past year! ♥️ Here’s to another decade of dreams and Evolution #newyear #newbeginnings #health #happiness #love
