Idris Elba tells Madonna fans not to believe the hype

Idris Elba and Madonna sparked speculation that they are dating after the pair were reportedly spotted kissing after the Luther star participated in a boxing match.

The couple were spotted together at London's M restaurant on Friday night following the actor's fight which was filmed for his upcoming TV show Idris Elba: Fighter.

She also shared a snap of herself lying on the floor with the actor, writing: 'I kicked his butt'.

The pair met for the first time back in 2015 after he DJ'd for her Rebel Heart tour. Opening up about meeting her while promoting Luther, the actor said: 'I was excited, I had a great time. Madonna is a legend. I got there, I met a beautiful person that has been working for ever and ever, amen, and is still going.'

However on Monday, Idris responded to the rumours by posting this tweet:

Madonna’s ‘Make My Video’ MTV Contest Winner, 30 Years Later

Thirty years ago, MTV actually played music videos. And the network played a lot of Madonna videos. So many, in fact, that it devoted an entire day - Oct. 30, 1986, also known as 'Blue Thursday' - to Madge’s 'Make My Video' contest, running a marathon of fan-made 'True Blue' music videos that ranged from semi-professional film-school projects to amusingly amateurish camcorder clips of tots in ballet-recital tutus or tweens in Desperately Seeking Susan lace hair-bows lip-synching into hairbrushes.

A week earlier, the top 10 contest entries even took over the cable channel’s regular Dial MTV countdown show, and one of those contenders - a sepia-toned depiction of ‘60s malt-shop romance, lensed by Venezuela-born, Miami-based college student Angel Gracia on a $600 budget - won the $25,000 grand prize, and became the official video for 'True Blue' in the States. And MTV history was made.

'It’s a bit shocking, actually. S—, I’m getting old,' Gracia laughingly tells Yahoo Music when he realizes he won the 'Make My Video' contest three whole decades ago, when he was just 21. Gracia credits 'True Blue' with launching his legitimate film career, which has included shooting commercials and even working with Ridley Scott. But he recalls that his video almost didn’t make it past MTV’s submission process at all.

Events: Madonna Celebrates the Candy Shop

Celebrating the last true pop icon: Madonna

Icons don’t get much bigger than Madonna. She’s transfixed us for decades. We follow her every move, intoxicated by her unstoppable fame, beautiful men, glamour and incredible wealth. Let’s face it: at some time or another, we’ve all wanted to be Ms Ciccone.

Now, thanks to London’s premier Madonna party ‘Madonna Celebrates the Candy Shop’ on December 3rd, you too can immerse yourself in the Queen of Pop’s fantastic world.

'Madonna is what life is all about,' enthuses Kurt Hoffman who is organising the ninth annual Madonna Celebrates event. 'This year’s going to be bigger and better than anything we’ve done before. Everything has been especially designed to allow you to step into the intoxicating realm of the ultimate pop superstar. We want fans to experience Madonna like they never have before.'

The night will be held at the newly refurbished Eagle, south London’s premier polysexual bar and club, which now boasts an extraordinary Funktion-One sound system which will play the entire Sticky and Sweet tour.

'You’ll never have heard sound like it,' says Hoffman. 'But it’s not just about the acoustics – with a Madge-inspired set designed by Adrian Britnell, who has worked on such blockbusters as Moulin Rouge and Star Wars, we’re also in for real visual treat.'

Seven vast video screens, a ‘Candy Shop’, VIP area, Vogue ‘runway’, art installation, secret garden and a multi-mirror balled dance floor will be inviting you to get into the groove.

Stay tuned for a competition to win one of TEN PAIRS of VIP tickets to the event at madonnalicious.com

Hoffman knows his Madonna and started the event in 2007 after seeing her ground-breaking Confession’s Tour.

'Back then it was just a bit of fun,' he says. 'We’ve now been on an amazing journey and worked with some of the best acts and DJs going.'

Topping the bill this year will be Melissa Totten, a highly-respected Madonna impersonator, who will be treating revellers to key moments from the Sticky and Sweet tour.

'David Bowie and Prince are just two of the truly unique artists we’ve lost in 2016,' she muses. 'Madonna is one of our last icons, and even if she hung it all up today, she would have left a deep and lasting impact on pop culture. Music is not what it once was. Madonna floats high above the formulaic, canned pop you get on reality TV shows. There won’t be another like her, so we need to enjoy her now.'

Melissa will be joined by gay scene legends Mzz Kimberley and Seth Stomboli, along with the kind of super-human dancers you’ll see cavorting with Madonna in one of her legendary shows.

The night will also be raising money for local charity Wandsworth Oasis which supports local people living with HIV.

Madonna opens show for Amy Schumer in NYC and tells fans to vote for Hillary

She said what?! Madonna made an extremely NSFW proposition to fans during her opening act for Amy Schumer at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, October 18.

During the comedian's New York City show, the Queen of Pop made a surprise stand-up appearance, and jokingly offered to perform a sex act on male fans if they cast their ballots for Hillary Clinton in November.

'One more thing before I introduce this genius of comedy,' Madonna, 58, told the audience moments before Schumer, 35, took the stage. 'If you vote for Hillary Clinton, I will give you a blow job - and I'm good!'

Giving fans a thumbs-up, the no-holds-barred entertainer added, 'I take my time, I make lots of eye contact and I do swallow.'

This wasn't the first time the duo shared the Madison Square Garden stage together. Last September, Schumer opened up for Madonna's Rebel Heart tour during three of her NYC stops.

Madonna Is Billboard's 2016 Woman of the Year

When the 11th annual Billboard Women In Music event hits New York City this winter, royalty will be present.

Following a year where she extended her record as the highest-grossing female touring artist of all time, Madonna will receive Billboard's 2016 Woman of the Year award.

'Madonna is one of a miniscule number of super-artists whose influence and career transcend music,' said Janice Min, president and chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group. 'With her creative vision, relentless innovation, and dedication to philanthropic causes, she is an inspiration to hundreds of millions of people around the world, all while shattering every career record out there. She is an important feminist on top of that, a one-of-a-kind artist who's used her influence to change the conversation around women, sexuality and equal rights.

From her Prince tribute alongside Stevie Wonder at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards to her political Met Gala appearance to her indelible commentary on the 2016 election, Madonna has remained a constant force in pop culture and source of cultural conversation over the past year.

Her Rebel Heart Tour, which wrapped in March, solidified her status as one of the biggest touring acts of all time. Madonna sold more than 1 million tickets and walked away with $170 million. That makes her the highest grossing solo touring artist in Billboard Boxscore history (the archives go back to 1990) with a staggering $1.31 billion in total concert grosses.

In addition to being the first female pop star with true control of her career and image, Madonna is the best-selling female recording artist of all time. She's earned 8 No. 1 albums (and 21 top 10 albums) on the Billboard 200 and 12 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. With her 46th No. 1 on the Dance Club Songs chart in 2015, she extended her own record for the most No. 1s on a single Billboard chart. She also holds the record for the most top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with 38.

In addition to her ongoing chart dominance, her philanthropic efforts are effecting real change in the world. Madonna's Raising Malawi organization is currently constructing Malawi's first pediatric surgery and intensive care unit, which will double the number of life-saving surgeries performed on children each year, provide intensive care after critical surgeries, and train specialized Malawian medical staff. The Mercy James Institute of Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care facility will open in 2017.

The seven-time Grammy winner will receive the honor at the 11th annual Women in Music event, held Dec. 9 in New York City and airing nationally on Lifetime on Dec.12. The star-studded event is held in conjunction with the publication of Billboard's Women in Music list, which identifies the 50 most powerful female executives in the industry each year.
