UK TV: Collectaholics feature Madonna fan

BBC2 Show Collectaholics is to feature a Madonna fan in episode 5 to be screened on Tuesday 14 April at 19:00.

'The team meet James, a man obsessed with popstar Madonna, owning thousands of pieces of memorabilia dedicated to her. James owns everything from magazines and key rings, to outfits worn in Evita and a bracelet from the Material Girl video. His collection is squeezed into his London flat, with shelving units behind shelving units, and items dripping from the ceiling but he's desperate to get it in an exhibition. Can Mark and Jasmine help make his dream come true?'.

It's really sad that this person has given up a big chunk of his life and forgone the pleasures that being a thoughtful individual brings. Instead, wasting time and money being fanatical about a person that distracts him from his own life (for whatever reasons) instead of finding inspiration in the real world.
Madonna isn't an inspiration, she's just a media distraction from the real world. Is life really so bad that you're prepared to waste so much of it obsessing about a person you don't even know - rather than obsessing about yourself and what makes you feel worthwhile?
