Madonna Celebrates Launch Of Expanded Pakistani School

Pop superstar Madonna is celebrating after helping to launch a new school in Pakistan, a year after promising to fund the construction of the facility with help from fan donations.

The Material Girl hitmaker made the vow onstage at London's The Sound of Change concert last summer, when she called on the public to join her Revolution of Love campaign and throw their support behind Pakistani activist Humaira Bachal, who has been fighting for better education for young girls.

Speaking at the 2013 event, Madonna said, 'Let's help Humaira build a bigger school in Pakistan! How 'bout this? You build the first floor, I'll build the rest of the school. Let's do this together...!'

'I keep telling people that I want to start a revolution. Until you learn to read and write, you can't ask the question why. You can't do this without an education. Education is not a luxury, it is a basic human right.'

The singer made good on her pledge and the newly-expanded Dream Model Street School in Karachi opened last week.

Madonna, who has been involved in building similar schools in Malawi, shared a photo of the completed building on her Instagram.com page on Sunday and in the accompanying caption, she wrote, 'The Revolution of Love continues in Pakistan! The Dream School is finally finished. 1200 kids attending. Knowledge is Power!'

Madonna track sounds wicked, says MNEK

MNEK has described Madonna's new material as 'wicked'.

The British singer-songwriter has been in the studio with the US icon to work on a track for her forthcoming new album, which is due out in 2015.

'I almost get quite scared talking about it,' MNEK told Digital Spy at the MOBO Awards launch. 'It's happened, obviously. I did meet Madonna and I did work with her.'

'It was great and amazing. The song sounds wicked - I'm really proud of it. Diplo's dope, Madonna's dope, her people are great and that side of things is working out great.'

MNEK is nominated for Best Newcomer at the MOBO Awards 2014, with Sam Smith and Krept & Konan leading this year's list.

Madonna bumps into Rihanna while out with Timor

Despite rumors of a split, Madonna stepped out with boy toy Timor Steffens Sunday night.

They were with an entourage seeing 'Sleep No More' at the McKittrick Hotel before heading to the Gallow Green rooftop, where they “snuggled” over dinner.

As Madonna left, she happened to run into Rihanna, who was taking a studio break.

'They smiled and laughed, then went their separate ways,' a spy said.

Madge has also been in the studio recording with producers including DJ Dahi, Blood Diamonds and Diplo.

Madonna Adds DJ Dahi & Blood Diamonds to Collaborators List

The list of collaborators for Madonna’s next album continues to grow.

The diva posted an Instagram photo on Saturday of DJ Dahi and Blood Diamonds working behind a computer, with the caption, 'Nothing can stop the Sex Boyzzzzzz!'

DJ Dahi is the producer behind Drake’s 'Worst Behavior,' and has worked with other artists like Kendrick Lamar and Lily Allen. Pop act Blood Diamonds (aka Mike Diamond) is a frequent collaborator with Grimes.

Madonna has also been working with super-producer Diplo, who has turned up in multiple photos on her Instagram account. In his Billboard magazine cover feature, Diplo said that he's had multiple studio sessions with Madonna that have resulted in at least three 'amazing, smashes.'

The diva's next as-yet untitled album will be released in 2015 on Interscope Records. Her last release, 2012's MDNA, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Based on a glance at Madonna’s Instagram feed, the set may also feature collaborations with Toby Gad, MoZella, S1, Ariel Rechtshaid, Avicii, Natalia Kills and Martin Kierszenbaum.

Madonna Aiming for 2015 Album Release

Madonna's been hard at work on her upcoming new album - as evidenced by her prolific posts on Instagram - and is planning for it to be released in 2015, according to a representative.

Among those she's working with is super-producer Diplo, who has turned up in multiple photos on the diva's Instagram account. It's unclear if Diplo (who recently graced the cover of Billboard magazine) is materializing as the album's primary producer, but it would seem that he could play a significant role in the project.

When asked specifically about Diplo and his involvement in the album, Madonna's manager Guy Oseary told Billboard, 'She's currently in the studio with Diplo and having a lot of fun,' but didn't offer any further clues about the project. Alas.

In his Billboard magazine cover feature, Diplo said that he's had multiple studio sessions with Madonna that have resulted in at least three 'amazing, smashes.' 'I got really lucky because she's been really understanding and open to my ideas. And she's like, 'I hate sleeping....''

Madonna's next album is due out on Interscope Records, and - based on a glance at her Instagram feed - may also feature collaborations with Toby Gad, MoZella, S1, Ariel Rechtshaid, Avicii, Natalia Kills and Martin Kierszenbaum. On last week’s Pop Shop Podcast, Kierszenbaum - the head of Cherrytree Records who also records as Cherry Cherry Boom Boom - told Billboard that he was 'very proud' of the work he completed with Madonna in the studio.

'It was a real privilege to write with Madonna, and with Natalia Kills,' said Kierszenbaum. 'We ended up writing about seven songs. We were meant to only be there with her for a couple of days, but we really distilled it down to a very traditional writing session. It was just me on the piano, and Madonna and Natalia Kills around it, and we just wrote songs the old-fashioned way, just playing the piano and singing. .... I don’t know what she’s gonna use from the sessions, but it was a tremendous honor.'

Madonna’s last release, 2012's MDNA, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart - her fifth consecutive No. 1 studio album and her eighth chart-topper overall.

Madonna has a diva moment that only Madonna could have

Madonna had a fabulous diva moment at Jeremy Scott’s Fashion Week party at Space Ibiza New York - insisting that a spotlight beaming down on her be switched off.

Although usually comfortable in the spotlight, the Queen of Pop objected to the beam in a VIP area at the hot new club. Sources at the party said club management urgently tried to find a way to turn it off.

One spy said, 'Madonna didn’t want it on her. Managers couldn’t turn it off individually, so club owner Carlo Seneca stood on the banquette, unscrewed the bulb and presented it to Madonna as a gift from the opening.' The Midtown West spot opens to the public on Friday.

We’re told a casually dressed Madonna, 56, had arrived at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday with a dancer in tow following a recording session with DJ Diplo and seemed 'in a cranky mood because she and Diplo didn’t finish their track.' But she did get into the DJ booth with Diplo and Skrillex, and later sat at her table with the dancer, texting for nearly an hour.

Madonna's Instagram: 'I just want to rave in the back!'

Madonna attended the Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week party at Space Ibiza with Skrillex and Diplo last night. She just posted these pictures to her Instagram account.

'Another lecture from Diplo on djbooth etiquette! #sorrynotsorry #unapologeticbitch #diplotic'

#unapologeticcollaboration: Madonna teamed up with Siri?

Madonna fans have noticed a possible team-up with Apple.

Rumours are circulating that the singer's alleged new single - titled either 'Unapologetic Bitch' or 'Bitch, I'm Madonna' - samples Siri's voice. Siri is an artificial intelligence assistant found on Apple iPhone and iPad devices.

The speculation was increased further when someone noticed that saying 'Unapologetic Bitch' into Siri swiftly loads Madonna's Wikipedia page, seemingly creating a link between the service and the superstar.

Searching Wikipedia online, 'Unapologetic Bitch' isn't mentioned on Madonna's main page, making the Siri search result even more curious.

What's more, while simply typing 'Unapologetic Bitch' into Google or Bing does bring up results relating to Madonna, the star's main Wikipedia page isn't even within the first 30 search results.

It wouldn't be the first time the Cupertino-based company has teamed up with a female superstar. iTunes exclusively launched Beyoncé's self-titled album last December, after she surprised fans with a stealth release on the store.

Madonna has yet to confirm the release date for her 13th studio album, but has been teasing the recording process on Instagram with the hashtag #UnapologeticBitch.

We reached out to Siri for confirmation of a possible Madonna collaboration, but they declined to comment.

Madonna and Lola dine in Ann Arbor restaurant Cafe Felix

Now that Madonna's daughter is a student at the University of Michigan, sightings of the pop icon around Ann Arbor are inevitable.

Sunday, Madonna and her daughter, Lourdes Ciccone Leon, were spotted dining at Café Felix in Ann Arbor.

The seven-time Grammy winner came in shortly before the dinner rush Sunday and stayed for about an hour, according to David Ambrose, the bar manager at the restaurant at 204 S. Main St.

'She was delightful. She was really low key about it,' Ambrose said.

Madonna was joined by her daughter and a couple other guests who sat in a back booth of the restaurant. Ambrose said the staff was aware Madonna was there, but went out of their way to not draw any attention to the table.

'It’s part of the business,' Ambrose said. 'We try to be pretty respectful of that.'

After paying her check, Madonna told the staff that she was very happy with her experience and hinted she would be back.

'That was the coolest part was at the end she said ‘I really enjoyed myself,’' Ambrose said.

As she thanked the staff for their help a few people finally noticed her and began wondering if it was really her.

'They flipped,' Ambrose said about the patrons once they realized it was actually Madonna.

Leon, 17, is an incoming freshman at the University of Michigan, where classes start Tuesday. It was announced in June that Leon would be attending the university and Madonna posted a picture on Instagram hinting that she was in town around the time of the announcement.

Several tweets were sent out Sunday afternoon by UM students who said they saw Madonna and Leon in one of the dorms and on campus.

'My roommate just screamed and ran after Madonna and Lola. So it's safe to say that Lola and I aren't gonna be friends anytime soon,' tweeted user @AlexContis
