Song lyrics revealed?
Saturday, 30 August 2014
What are your thoughts? Real or not? And who could these songs be about?!
'Heartbreak City'
'Cut me down the middle, f***ed me up a little. You said I was your queen. I tried to give you everything. And now you want your freedom.'
'You got just what you came for, a bit of fame and fortune, and I'm no longer needed.'
'You tore me into pieces, you didn't have no damn reason. I let you in my kingdom, you helped yourself with everything.'
'I curse the day we met. This memory is haunting me. I wish I could forget.'
'Two Steps Behind Me'
'You're a copycat, Where is my royalty? You're a pretty girl, I'll give you that. But stealing my recipe, it's an ugly look.'
'Did you study me hard enough? You're never gonna be, you're just a wannabe me. Like a sister all messed-up, who's gonna help you out? In your fantasy, you can try it all. But you can't be me.'
'You can walk the walk, even talk the talk. But you'll always be two steps behind me.'
Excellent Madonna post @Rick- those are my exact sentiments too.
Madonna's new album will be make or break for me.

Madonna is just going to do it her way..remain out of touch with fans. I am sick of her trying so hard to sound angry or like she always has a chip on her shoulder about something. Even her constant hashtag "unapologetic bitch"...what is the point??? Does she think everyone just wants her to be a badass...sound angry...?? Everything she does anymore has to be done with an attitude...posts..pictures..etc. She isn't associated with fun in any way and she just pushes fans further and further away.
I've bought every album, single, picture disc, collection, etc. but I will give this
new album a first single chance before I spend a dime. If she wants to sound angry and competitive and all that blah blah crap STILL, I will finally be done.
At this point it should be easy for her to sound and write "happy"...but she just can't find her way anymore..... :(

The part that cracks me up is how any "Madonna fan" would realize that this is not her writing style. These lyrics don't flow in any manner whatsoever nor do they resemble Madonna's writing style. Some peeps will believe anything that is printed these days.

Other than Born This Way sounding like Express Yourself, I always saw Gaga as more on a Grace Jones path. And now she's singing jazz with Tony Bennett. It would appear her Madonna emulating (if it even happened) ended with the Born This Way album. I think Miley's album, tour and brash personality (all which I liked) hearkened more to 90's Madonna than anything Gaga did. And why she would even bother making negative comments about younger artists is beyond me. She has MANY photos and magazine covers where she blatantly ripped off 40's actresses. She rehashes her own lyrics over and over. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan, but I'd assume these lyrics are crap. Also, I wasn't all that impressed with She's Not Me because I would think Kaballah would not be okay with judgement and name calling. Nor with being bitter or resentful. My hope is that this next album, regardless of genre is chock full of good songwriting. I was disappointed in how canned MDNA sounded. I didn't like they lyrics or the hooks. And that's not insulting to her at all. She's had one less than stellar album in her entire catalog in my opinion and most other artists who've been around as long as her have MANY bad albums. She's still on her game. And the fact that she's working with some of Gaga's producers should show she's over all that crap. One would hope anyway. They should just do a song together and be done with it. I think Gaga's jazz stuff with Tony Bennett is amazing. I like that she can venture into different genres as well. You know what? They should just play Roxie and Velma in a one night only production of Chicago and call it good! Love all the comments!!! Have a great day everyone.

Guys,
There are all from The Sun. It's a trashy newspaper that the UK puts out. These lyrics aren't real, in any way. Our girl is above all that. I think someone just put in the newspaper to get our attention, that's all. I think there are people who just want to ruin Madonna and her name. I try not to pay attention to it. Because I know deep down it's completely untrue.

I hope this doesn't make the cut. Madonna's golden era did not include songs where she continued to grieve the loss of a marriage. I thought she got that out of her system with the MDNA tour. The whole copycat nonsense needs to go, too. "She's Not Me" addressed that, let's not wallow in it. It looks weak and craven. Suck it up and belt out the dance tunes and ballads longtime fans expect and welcome. No need to delve into this other rehashed nonsense. If this is a legit preview, I ain't buying the album or my customary tour ticket. Be your fabulous self Madge: you own the crown and have no successor. They all fade within a decade. You're enduring.

I really hope she isn't going to flog that dead horse any more. She shouldn't have begun flogging it in the first place.
But what I'm equally sick of is all these spoilers that Madonna and/or her team keep releasing. They don't build up anticipation or excitement, they spoil it, hence the name.
Also, Madonna's lyrics were never her strong point so it's a bad idea to put the spotlight on them. In the weeks before the release of MDNA (which I thought was a good album) they did all this spoilers stuff, and it helped kill it IMO. Plus, there was an element of 'focus group' mentality too it, which is always a bad sign. Artistry and focus groups don't sit well together.
If Madonna has long ago satiated her creative ambitions in the field of pop music I'd rather she had the courage to admit it and plough a new furrow. She's got nothing more to prove in pop music, and a lot to lose. Recently a list of the top-five most expensive videos was compiled and published and Madonna's were amongst them. I'd rather see a list of the most creative videos; none of Madonna's videos in the last 12 years would even register, because she's already slaked her thirst for it.
I want to see her dancing with zest and joy, not 'this is my job, I'm working hard', so I'd rather she pursue what brings unforced joy for her, which she can then share with her audiences around the world.
If she wants to be seen as an artist in her lyric-writing she needs to craft her lyrics with the same care, time and dedication that she's crafted her body with. The same goes for her videos. It's not all about the concerts, despite the poor advice she's been given.
I'd like to say I'm looking forward to the new album, but I'm dreading it, and these lyrics and the snippet of music aren't helping.
She needs to stop jumping on bandwagons, whether the bandwagon lies in social media [sic], or music, or choreography, or whatever.

Just because it appears in a newspaper article does not mean that it is always true.

I agree Sean. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a dark and angry album. These 2 songs in particular are very repetitive of what she has already done. How boring is that? And the lady gaga bashing by M is tired. I thought she was above all that kind of garbage. Where is the kabbalah teaching in any of that? It seems that lately M can't walk the walk that she continually preaches. As a devoted fan this is beginning to sadden me.

The first one is interesting because it doesn't sound like she is talking about the relationship with Guy Ritchie...

YES, THEY ARE ABOUT GAGA AND GUY! MADONNA LICIKNG HER WOUNDS!

I hope these don't make it as we've already heard this before. Rehash of old 'f*** You Guy Ritchie and Lady Gaga' references already released previously. Surely, she has more than that to offer?!
