Hats off to such an intelligent, business savvy, beautiful and ass-kicking woman! We are all hugely blessed to have you Madonnna our Queen!!
P.S. Tank God all that merchandise has paid off. Majority of the fans were accusing her of focusing too much on perfumes, tshirts and books instead of real music. At least it paid off.

Is a paid off to all her great job, 30 years of career and she still changing the style of music, fashion, art. I was impact with Madonna when I saw the like Virgin performance at the MTV's award. I remember my mom cover my eyes! Lol, that was huge is South America ! Then I saw her who's that girl concert and I felt in love with her ! I saw that kid dancing with her at her stage and I thought that could be me some day? Lol...
I admired this legend and art! I always get connected with her music is my relieve to a my questions and confusions. I Love you MADONNA!! You are a master piece of art. !!

Marc, what you mentioned is about REVENUE, not wealth. For example, you may earn $100,000 a year in your salary but do you have $100,000 in 'wealth'? (usually people do not as they pay rent, expenses, etc).
I think the article is accurate.

@ tracy: I remember reading that exact Time magazine article that predicted she'd be gone within one year after her Virgin Tour (1984). I was like, "Noooooo, I love Madonna!" lol
Now nearly 30 years later she's still around, releasing new cd's, touring and doing all (plus more) that she was doing back then. I'm proud that Madonna is such a savvy business woman; especially with so many other artists filing for bankruptcy. Long live the Queen of Pop!

wow!!!!!!-not bad for a little girl from detroit!! i remember madonna coming out in the 80's-& critics saying she'd be over within the year-30 years on & a BILLION dollars later!!!!i dont always agree with everything M does-but theres no denying she proved them all wrong-& you cant take away her incredible acheivements.you go girl!!!xx

I think this report is not accurate, Madonna has been a billionaire for some time. Let's not forget that in the last 10 years alone her tours have grossed 1 billion dollars, Maverick records was worth over 1 billion back in 1999 and with record sales of over 300mil units, her music has easily sold over 2 billion. Then you have to add her merchandise, clothing, dvds, vhs tapes, books and endorsements, I believe Madonna has been a billionaire for years and doesn't flaunt it, but publications are only looking at her in take income of the last couple of decades and not her entire career's profits.
