So this is what we are going to get from the Vintage Madonna? The thing to keep in mind was Madonna had an opportunity to perform at the musically historic VENUE of all times, that is where Edit Piaf performed and what did we all get? Why would you ever use a background video in a short concert? Justify My Love was totally inappropriate for this show and the rest of the songs, just boring repetition of what she has been doing for the last 5 years. No artistic re-invention or effort made. She is just bored and tired, and when are we going to get a decent album from her? in 4 years. when she is 58? that breaks my heart. And those who believe that people who booed her at an Olympia were kinda a set up? then watch this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8gNEXKNAB8

It already mention a 45 mins, so get alive, shame on you, the choice is yours, idiot

Unfortunately Madonna is becoming an aging artist with poor muisic and now disrespect to her fans. It is sad to think that Madonna we all know is disappearing among her foolish speaches about her marriage, love bla bla bla.... This is boring......

Oh what a load of crap she gave a great intimate performance a lot of people would loved to have seen her for 45 minutes at any price.

The boos and the bottle throwing was intentionally started by people placed within the audience they even had signs ready typed up.

I agree what Madonna done was shit but this was a set up.

That French le penn was probably behind the whole thing.

To Grace and Jose.
I assume that even if Madonna stole money straight from your packet, you would be delighted. Wouldn't you?
I advice you to go to one of Kylie's concerts or George Micheal's. Then maybe you will see the difference in what I call "respect".
I fully agree with the booing people. I would do as well if I paid this ridiculous sum of money to see 40 mints concert.
And Madonna? Stick to singing woman, because this is the reason people buy the tickets. Not to listen to a speech full of bullsh...

to Gjr711, if you haven't bought anything from Madonna in years and you have such a negative (seems more like hatred) with all the name calling what the hell are you doing on this website? Could you maybe be a jealous little monster? I watched the show on youtube and thought it was fantastic, especially in that intimate venue. Now what I have issue with is the long speech. If you know anything about a Madonna show you know that she is going to get a little political, she always has, but I take exception with it for this show because it was such a short show. I would have loved a couple more songs instead of the winded speech, but what she did perform was wonderful. The mix of beautiful killer with die another day was brilliant. I hope she adds that to the show on her dates in the states, and the ending of this particular show was grande. I am just surprised that she did not say goodnight as she always does, that was a little baffling and maybe added a little bad pr at the way it ended. Overall I think excellent mini concert. BRAVO MDNA!

Thank God Madonna isn't a mainstream pop artist and is still able to push all those buttons. YOU GO GIRL!! Your "real" fans will stick with you through thick and thin. You've survived worse. It's just that with the Internet, I think, things get kind of out of hand and blown out of proportion with every tweet-twat posting his/her opinion. Still amazed though that so-called "fans", of course only SOME of them, are the ones who seem to be her worst enemies.

L-U-V Madonna. Go home booers and losers and stop spamming Madonna fansites if you dislike her so much.

Gjr711

I used to be a big fan of this woman. But it's quite clear she is a two faced liar and has absolutely no respect for her fans or anyone else outside of her 'circle'. After the Batman cinema massacre in the states some acknowledgment of this and a show minus the guns as a tribute was the least I expected. She did and said nothing. She is not a politician she is not a missionary and she is certainly no artist. She is a self centered egotiscal sociopath with narcistic tendencies. I haven't bought anything by her for years because what she now produces is so poor and contrived. Maybe this will change one day, but until then if you're unhappy with her and you're a big fan - DON'T BUY INTO HER, until she starts doing her 'job' as a mainstream pop singer again. Madonna please, spare us the two faced platitudes and politics and work for your money.

José

Eric, I respect your opinion and can see where your anger is coming from in the first place. But really what were you and the others expecting in the first place?

It was supposed to be an intimate mini-gig all along (remember Koko for Confessions? Olympia for Hard Candy?). And boy did she deliver. It was an epic killer performance, especially the last two songs. Leavin without an encore and without saying good-bye is part of the package. For God's sake it's Madonna! And she puts on an amazing show that is much more like drama and theater. That is why we love her so much! That is why she doesn't need to say "Thank you. Good night."

This show was her love letter to the French people and I think that those who booed and did not get her heartfelt message (the one you called "pedantic babble") are the one's who are disrespectful. I think it's those people who need to be ashamed. Point the finger at yourselves. Really, how dare they.

Also, how come those protest signs you mentioned were already printed out beforehand? (Le Pen sympathizers?)

How come so many people disliked the video on YouTube before the show even started? (lil monsters?)

How come so many people these days show so little respect for the work, effort and creativity this legendary woman and artist has given the world for the last 30 years?

THE QUEEN!

It is very rude and disrespectful to show up late for a show. This is about customer service. If I pay to see a concert at 8pm, a professional will start at 8pm. This is an implied contract. Showing up late is wasting someone's time, which is someone's life. If a venue has 20,000 people and she starts 1 hour late, that is 20,000 hours of wasting people's life, which is 833 days, which is about 2.2 years. THAT IS DISRESPECTFUL and SELFISH. That she does this to her fans makes me wonder how she treats other people.

Eric

I’ve just returned from the show that will remain memorable for two reasons: First, for the successful performance of Madonna, her warmth, her proximity and her enthusiasm. The setlist was nice, the atmosphere was electric (at first), she looked happy to be there.

Then it will be remembered mostly as the biggest insult from an artist towards her audience. 45 minutes late, she arrived on stage at 22:45. A show of 40 minutes, 10 minutes of a speech about her love of France, her usual pedantic babble about the love of your neighbor (the beautiful irony) and a very successful finale with the French track “Je t’Aime Moi Non Plus”. But at the end of the song, Madam leaves the stage without looking back, without saying goodbye or thank you. Lights and background music are on again ... No encores. The show is over.

There is consternation in the room. First spectators don’t think it’s over. They think it’s an intermission but when they see technicians storing gear and taking back all the stuff from the stage, they quickly understand that Madonna will not return. Then there follows a violent riot in such circumstances: the crowd hisses and boos. They call her “you bitch!” and shout "refund! Refund! We want our money back". Someone pulls out a sign where it’s written "I'm addicted to $ $ $ $".

Note that Guy Oseary, Madonna's manager was still in the room and of course he heard the fans reaction no need to speak French to get it. The discontentment continues in the lobby of the Olympia, the fans are running wild. Outside, no one wants to leave and everyone yells "refund!" on the sidewalk. Hatred, resentment, disappointment, bitterness is heard on all sides. Some came from the provinces, from abroad, spent up to € 280 for a ticket plus travel costs, some stayed up two nights on the pavement outside the Olympia. Needless to say that I've never seen this at the end of any show by any artist.

Madonna did not hear the reaction of her fans, because a policeman told me that her car took her away from the place while the public was still inside. But fans are staying and every car that comes out of the car park adjacent to the music hall is booed. Thins don't seem to get more quiet and the policemen look baffled, having probably never seen this kind of stuff before. It's 23.45. At 00.15, fans were still screaming in front of the venue. Not just French people, but fans from all over Europe, some from the North America. They all talk to each other, everybody's so mad and angry.

I am disgusted. I did not think someone could treat their audience this way and provide such a short show case (not a concert) at such exorbitant prices. Nothing justifies a show as short and poor as this one. There is no reason for her not to perform a couple of more songs and an encore and to leave without saying goodbye or thanking the audience. This is shameless arrogance, total disregard for her fans who will not forgive her anytime soon such an affront.

This is indeed a mistake and at this stage of her career, Madonna would do well to consider her fans with more respect and sympathy. Because I'm not sure that even those who agree to go to stadiums will always be inclined to go back, knowing how she behaves in smaller venues. I don’t know what motivates her: she organized a special show, which was presented to the fans & the press as a special performance in an exceptional venue and then, she trashes this opportunity and insults her audience. The Olympia is a mythical place (Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Brian Jones, Iggy Pop, Bowie, Josephine Baker, Jacques Brel, Led Zeppelin, etc… not exactly bad artists and they never performed less than 1 hour and never charged €280 for a ticket). She has just sullied this venue with her stupidity and her claim to think that her fans will accept anything. Well no, the fans have proven they are not pigeons and that they do not accept to be despised when they had to pay for such sums. The disappointment has been worth the wait; whistles and boos were deserved. Madonna behaved like a spoiled and impolite brat with an oversized ego. She reaped what she deserved: the disenchantment of her biggest fans. Shame on her.
