Pharrell confirms Madonna work

After collaborating with Madonna on her highly successful 2008 crossover album Hard Candy, Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams will once again be working with the pop icon in the new year.
According to News.com.au, Skateboard P says he’s 'got some stuff going on with Madonna,' though work on a new Despicable Me film as well as a new Neptunes project are taking up studio time as well. Referring to unique artists like Madonna, Williams explained, 'Every session I have I try to take something from and learn different things - how to make great music, how to make that music greater.'

If Patrick Leonard replied that "it ain't gonna happen" about working with Madonna again, maybe he had a bad experience or maybe she did with him. Either way, they won't be together. I was reading on Wikipedia about the HC album that the record company picks the producers or objects to others even if the artist wants them. Madonna will be with a new recording company for the first time in 27 years, so she should have the most artistic freedom ever, I would think. So, I think she should try working again with Paul Oakenfold if she doesn't choose someone altogether new. She doesn't like to repeat herself, so I am surprised at the direction she is going in so far, though this may just be for one song. Paul and M did work on two songs together (and they are both top notch imo) for Celebration after doing numberous remixes before that of other hits first. The collaboration with William Orbit began similarly because first they worked on remixes and then that led to ROL, a modern masterpiece. So try Paul Oakenfold PLEASE for the entire album. Or record half with him and the other half with William Orbit.

Really - why when you have something like COTDF or ROL would she even go there - HC was a dreadful album I have loved most of her work over the years (I still remember into the groove going to number one in the UK!) but that album was the pits - think this is a very bad idea - Madonna listen to your fans not the trends!

madonna pleaseeee dont collaberate with pharelle again, it was a fun album , almost like a character a pimp character that was created, but get back to earth and wow us with something that really hits us in the heart and soul..... i hate to say this and i never speak bad about madonna shes my queen. but Hard Candy was the Worst album ever out of all her Albums.....i agree with some people about stewart price, he just really worked on musical arrangments and madge really worked on most of all the lyrics.... American life, Confessions whattttt those albums are outstanding....it was like i had to force myself to like hardcandy. and if it wasnt for Shes not me, and give it to me, i wud have returned it... thank god her tour was full of old songs , and only a few new ones.... I quote Madonna " i want to make music i can really Dance too" well then get some underground no namers who make sick beats, get away from all the mainstreem people that are making everything sound so generic...

Man. I'm surpised with all the comments. Pharell is doing SOME stuff with Madonna and everyone thinks he's doing an whole album. She hasn't recorded anything yet, so he might do just a few songs. Besides that. Hard Candy was a great album. I would just prefer Madonna to do nothing Urban. Pharell did a great job on the Shakira album and they recently worked with Daft Punk. So Madonna may sound nothing like Urban at all.

Madonna should maybe do a combination of different sounds and work with different producers like she did on Bedtime Stories. That album was a success. Maybe do 2 songs from different genes. I would like to see her return and work with Prince, Babyface and Stephen Bray again.

I really hope that this isn't a hard fact. Madonna is usually way ahead of the game and to use him would be taking a few steps back. She should be checking out people like Deamau5 and Bon Iver. Here's my rationale. Deadmau5 has the best beats this year hands down and Bon Iver had the best folk album of the decade. Madonna is strong on two fronts. Dance music and Ballads. I think the mix of Madonna, Deadmau5 and Bon Iver would make for an amazing album.

Remember Erotica, Bedtime Stories, Ray of Light, American Life, Like a Prayer, those were absolutely amazing and you were not working with anyone “hot” at the moment. There are a lot of unknown producers out there who are better than Pharrell, and you can be more creative than that. Please concentrate on the sounds and the lyrics, not on the sales, that’s when you do your best work.

Give It 2 Me was ok, but overall, I'm really disappointed. Hopefully she's just playing in the studio right now, but please, don't go backwards Madonna; you've never done that with your albums before and it would be a real shame. Why not work with Max Martin and Robyn? Tiesto is very hardcore techno, so that would be cool too. Linda Perry would be interesting as well. Rock/pop like P!nk could be fun. A return to power ballads would be nice too. (Live to Tell, Crazy For You, Nothing Fails)Just NO Pharrell, and don't get on the Nicki Minaji band wagon either.

I admit Hard Candy was not my favorite album, but there is songs on that album that I love. I hope she does more techno music. If she worked VNV Nation that would be awesome (even though they are more industrial, whatever she does I will love and support and buy the album!!!!!!

Just KEEP him AWAY from the microphone. i actually think the Pharrell tracks were the strongest on Hard candy and he saved the album. Timbalands tracks sucked.

BUT listening to Pharrells awful voice on hard candy ruined otherwise decent songs. Just keep him out of the recording booth and all will be okay.

Other than that, I hope the album goes more dance than urban/ hip hop this time around.

She really should head in a completely new direction though. NEW PRODUCER needed.
