Madonna To Open 'Hard Candy' Fitness Centers Around The World

Madonna in partnership with her manager Guy Oseary and New Evolution Ventures (NEV) announced the establishment of Hard Candy Fitness global gyms which will open in major cities around the world. The first Hard Candy Fitness is a beautiful and uniquely designed 30,000 square foot space which is scheduled to open in Mexico City mid November in the exclusive Bosques de las Lomas area. Madonna will be visiting the gym on the 29th of November for the official launch.
Throughout her career Madonna has been devoted to fitness and well being and has worked out in literally hundreds of gyms around the world. As a result, she has a strong vision on what the ideal exercise, dancing and work out environment should be. The direction for how to bring that vision to the fitness world began to take shape during an initial meeting between Mark Mastrov, the innovator behind 24 Hour Fitness and Guy Oseary early in 2008.
Mastrov has built a fitness empire of over 420 clubs in 16 countries. Mastrov, his partner Jim Rowley of NEV, Craig Pepin-Donat, the Vice President of Marketing and Development, along with Madonna and Oseary, are now in the planning stages of opening 10 more locations in Russia, Brazil, Argentina and throughout Europe and Asia. In addition, they are currently exploring opportunities and local partnerships around the globe for facilities where fitness, fashion and entertainment create a unique member experience.
'Madonna’s world tours have taken us to many of our favorite cities around the world. We are looking forward to opening Hard Candy Fitness with NEV in many of these same places,' commented Oseary. 'Our goal is to create an environment inspired by Madonna’s vision and high standards of what the ideal gym would be. Hard Candy Fitness will be a reflection of Madonna's point of view and will reflect her input on every detail including music space, light and other design cues. Madonna’s touch will be everywhere.' stated NEV Chairman Mark Mastrov.
Chris Dedicik, Hard Candy’s Managing Director commented, 'Hard Candy Fitness is a one of a kind experience merging fitness with entertainment. We are dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our members.' Hard Candy Fitness members will experience the very best in innovative training methods including private, group and dynamic training including traditional classes such as Zumba, Latin Moves and Cardio Kickboxing as well as new programming designed specifically for Hard Candy Fitness.
The fitness center will also include a Bike Studio, a Mind Body Studio featuring The Great Wall, where members can practice BarWorks, Sculpting, Capoeria and the newest trends in Yoga. Madonna steps out with back-up dancer Brahim Zaibat

It seemed she had settled down once and for all with toy boy Jesus Luz.
But now Madonna has stepped out with a new younger man, confirming reports she has ended her relationship with Brazilian model Luz.
The 52-year-old singer was photographed leaving a cinema in New York with backup dancer Brahim Zaibat last week, whom she is thought to have been dating for the past 'few months'.
A source told gossip website X17Online.com: 'They've been seeing each other for a few months but really keeping it on the down low. Madonna did not want this getting out before she had time to see if things were really going to work out between her and Brahim or not.'
The new pictures come after it had been claimed Madonna was dating another of her backup dancers with the same name - Brahim Rachiki.
It is claimed Madonna was furious after it was reported she was dating Rachiki, and decided to set the record straight about the identity of her new boyfriend.

Madonna dating tour choreographer?

Madonna has reportedly struck up a relationship with a male dancer 19 years her junior.
The pop icon, who split from former lover Jesus Luz in February, sparked rumours of a romance with her 'Sticky & Sweet' tour choreographer Brahim Rachiki after the two were seen 'sneaking kisses and laughing' at a New York nightclub on Thursday.
A source told Page Six: 'They came in together and were holding hands in a private area. Madonna got up and was dancing for an hour straight before going back to her man. They immediately started making out in front of other guests.'
The insider reports that the pair then moved to another club in Greenwich Village, where they continued to show off their affection for one another.
'After working the dance floor, they found more private seating where they hugged and kissed for the rest of the night.'

Madonna Letter Reveals Movie Misery

A letter written by Madonna while filming hit baseball movie A League Of Their Own has emerged online, detailing her misery as she was forced to go without 'make-up' and live in a city without any attractive men for company.
Madonna starred alongside Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Tom Hanks and Rosie O'Donnell in the 1992 film, which followed the story of a women's baseball team.
The pop superstar has previously admitted she didn't enjoy making the movie, but her true feelings about the project have now been revealed in a scathing 1991 letter to her friend, photographer Steven Meisel.
Madonna rants about having to film outside, because the sunshine gave her an unwanted tan, and insists she was 'dirty all day' and unable to wear make-up.
She writes, 'I cannot suffer any more than I have in the past month, learning how to play baseball with a bunch of girls (yuk) in Chicago (double yuk). I have a tan, I am dirty all day and I hardly ever wear make-up.'
The singer also complains about the set's location in Chicago, Illinois and bemoans the lack of attractive men, adding, 'When God decided where all the beautiful men were going to live in the world, he did not choose Chicago.'
Madonna also slams director Penny Marshall and brands her co-star Davis a 'Barbie doll', adding, 'I hate actresses'.

Madonna is Graham Norton's dream guest

UK chat show host Graham Norton talks to the Daily Mail about how he would love Madonna to be a guest on his show:

So who are his dream guests? ‘Well, I’d happily invite back Dolly Parton, Cher and Glenn Close. And I’ve long been pursuing Bette Midler, which I think will happen.’ But top of the list remains Madonna. ‘We’d give her a special.’
Perhaps the release of W.E., the film she’s directed about Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson, will be the hook. ‘Yes,’ he says, ‘although I do worry. I’m told she’s been hands-on with that project. But is she listening to anyone else? You can just hear it, can’t you? 'What do you mean, it’s pronounced Lefftenant?'
‘But a friend of mine has recently become a sort of friend of hers. And he says she does quite a good impression of a normal person, given how Billy Bonkers she has a right to be.’

Justin Timberlake: 'Madonna is so stubborn'

Justin Timberlake has claimed that Madonna is the most stubborn woman in the world.
The singer/actor co-wrote and produced a number of songs on Madonna's 2008 Hard Candy album.
Timberlake told Metro of Madonna: 'She's the most stubborn woman in the world. As a woman, she's the highest in stubbornness.'
'But she's very smart and incredibly cerebral. And I think that's why she's been able to change her style and image so much. Her music pays attention to what people are thinking.'

'She's one of those people who everyone's so familiar with and then she's talking to you and she's so lovely, and you can't quite believe this is your life.'
She added: 'It's nice when you meet someone you admire and they don’t disappoint you.'

Forbes: The World's 100 Most Powerful Women

Madonna has been named as the 29th Most Powerful Woman in the World according to Forbes magazine:

The Material Girl may be the original pop sensation, credited with influencing female musicians from Britney Spears to Shakira, but with Lady Gaga hot on her heels, Madge is stepping up her game at age 52 to widen her appeal.
2010 saw the launch of the Material Girl clothing line with daughter Lourdes, 13, and the power mom is directing her second film, W.E., for release next year. A Madonna-themed episode of the Emmy-winning Glee brought her music to a new generation of fans.
Her tour of 2009 was the fourth-highest-grossing, bringing in $6 million a night and $138 million overall.

Glee's Jane Lynch: 'Vogue is a highlight'

Glee star Jane Lynch has revealed that her performance of 'Vogue' was an experience she will never forget.
Lynch recorded the track and recreated its iconic video for the Madonna-themed episode in the show's first season.
'Making that Madonna video was such a labour of love and probably a highlight in my life that I'll always look back on', she told RTÉ Ten.
'I know it was Ryan Murphy's dream come true to make that and everyone worked so hard on the video - we had more production meetings for that particular number than anything else in Glee.'
She added: 'We started working on it last December, all through Christmas and didn't shoot it until March. It took me every day to get those dance moves right.'
'I understand that she released a statement saying she was very happy with the whole episode and so she should be, it was homage to her.'

Fan report and pictures from the set of W.E.

madonnalicious reader John had the opportunity to watch Madonna at work directing W.E. in New York City last month. Here is his story and the first part of his pictures:

I wanted to share with readers of Madonnalicious, my Madonna moment in NY.
I was travelling in the U.S and happened to be in NY at the same time that Madonna was. At the time I knew about her upcoming Macy's appearance and was sorry that she was going to be there....when I would be in L.A sadly leaving the day earlier.
So I made it my mission after a few failed attempts of going to Sotheby's and cold leads on Twitter, I finally managed to get assistance from someone at on location tours who said she would filming the last day of W.E in the park.
Seeing Madonna twice in concert over the years and having a major obsession with her since 1984, I wasn't going to let this opportunity go by, so got to Central Park early watched the film crews set up and get ready for an obvious film scene. So I knew she would have to be where the action was at....so waited!
Then a few hours later....Madonna arrives on set with Paparazzi and a few devoted fans (me being one of them) I must say not a huge crowd I think because it was secluded in the park and word didn't get around....good for me.
So as you can see from the photo's she was in 4 feet of me at times. I had to stop clicking photos sometimes and take it in with my own eyes that she was really there, not performing, not on tv, but wearing the different hat of directing without make up and designer clothes looking natural and stunning at 52!
So I must say it was a huge highlight for me to spend 4 and a half hours watching her do her thing and also see how a movie is made too which was cool.
When she was leaving with her bodyguards after filming all day, I said 'Love your work Madonna' and she says 'Yeah!'
