Tour rumours already started by UK press

This story was started today about an 'upcoming tour' by UK newspaper the Daily Mirror:

Madonna has been auditioning dancers for her 'most unexpected' tour to date.
The 'Material Girl' singer - who is set to embark upon a six-month tour next autumn - road-tested dancers at the prestigious Aura nightclub in London's Mayfair district to find the perfect people to fit in with the 'hip-hop' feel of the tour.
An insider said: 'Madonna is in peak condition so the gruelling aspect of life on the road isn't a problem. She road-tested dancers at her favourite London club, and had her lover Jesus Luz give his opinion.'
The performers showcased their talents in a cordoned off area of the popular nightspot, while the 51-year-old singer and her 23-year-old model lover graded each of them individually.
The as-yet unnamed tour - which is part of Madonna's deal with Live Nation - is expected to net the singer in excess of £100 million, and will see her 'go back to her roots'.
The source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'It's going to be her biggest, most unexpected tour to date. She is going back to her New York City roots, with a street/hip-hop feel, and wants to make it a physical, dance-heavy set of gigs.'
Madonna's last tour - 'Sticky and Sweet' - finished last September.

Madonna chats about her mother-daughter fashion venture

Work-a-holic Madonna always has lots going on, so for the aptly-named Material Girl fashion line, which will be sold exclusively at Macy's starting Aug. 3, the singer turned to her 13-year-old daughter Lola for help with the designs, reports USA TODAY's Cindy Clark. 'Since I have a few careers going, I decided that I wasn't going to get into designing this line by myself,' says the 51-year-old singer.
'No question, Lola seemed the perfect choice. She is really doing most of the work. She shows me things and I go 'that's cool' or 'that's not cool.' We both go to business meetings. We exchange ideas, talk things out and even disagree about some things, though rarely.' Madonna also notes that her daughter has a 'unique' fashion sense and is 'much more adventurous than I am.'
And while Madonna knows how to strike a pose, she got behind the lens to ensure model/actress Taylor Momsen looked just right.

More from the Material Girl herself:

On Macy's: 'Macy's seems like a perfect fit because they're so good at marketing, their stores are all over the place and their price range is accessible. And the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade passes right in front of my apartment every year so I feel especially sentimental since my kids and I get to watch it every year when we're in town.'
On Lola's fashion sense: 'She's influenced by everything from bands she listens to, kids she sees in hip-hop and ballet classes and she's been to enough photo sessions, video shoots and seen me put my tours together to have developed a great eye. She's also worked in the wardrobe department on some of my tours. I love the way she puts different things together that are sometimes unexpected. She's the fashion police at our house and has a point of view on what everyone is wearing. I'm not saying we agree on everything but we enjoy collaborating together.'
On the new line: 'I didn't approach the Material Girl line to make up for something missing from the retail landscape. But I do think the Material Girl line gives young girls an opportunity to express themselves creatively and have fun putting outfits together depending on the occasion or their mood.'

Madonna 'set to move back to London'

More gossip from the London press today (Evening Standard), this time reporting that Madonna is thinking of moving back to London!

Madonna is reportedly planning to move back to Britain.
The singer - who relocated from London to New York following her divorce from film director Guy Ritchie in 2008 - is currently in London directing her new movie 'W.E.', about late British monarch King Edward VIII's decision to abdicate the throne for his American divorcee lover Wallis Simpson.
Despite originally planning to only stay for the six-month shoot, Madonna has rediscovered her love for the UK capital and told ex- husband Guy she wants to move back to Britain for good.
An insider told the Daily Star: 'Guy says she talks about their home in Wiltshire, the kids and their friends in London. She seems nostalgic for her old life. She had built up a big circle of friends and fell in love with London. She'll always love New York but she feels more at ease in London.'
Madonna - who has four children, Lourdes, 13, Rocco, nine, Mercy, five, and four-year-old David - is believed to be keen to move back to Britain so she can reconnect with her old friends.
The source explained: 'The person she spends most time with is her daughter Lourdes but she is desperate for more adult company.'

Joe Henry would be excited to produce Madonna's album

Joe Henry, the Grammy-winning producer and performer (and Madonna's brother-in-law) spoke to Jam! showbiz recently and was asked about collaborating with Madonna again:

What about producing an album for Madonna?
Don't think we haven't talked about it. When she's ready to make that shift, it's easily done. I think it's just a matter of her getting to the point creatively where she is completely at peace with swimming in different water. I believe we'll get there. And I'll be terribly excited about it when it happens.

Madonna in trouble over noisy London house party

US pop star Madonna was in hot water with her neighbours over a loud party thrown at her London house when she was not there, council officials said Monday.
Staff working for Madonna at her home in Marylebone, central London, threw a party on the afternoon of June 27 that was so noisy that nearby residents called Westminster City Council to complain.
Officials who arrived at the property shortly afterwards said the music and singing was loud enough to be considered 'statutory nuisance'.
They pushed a noise abatement notice through the letterbox, after which the music stopped.
The order was issued to Madonna, who is listed as the building's owner, even though she was not present at the party.
The 51-year-old singer, who is not in Britain at the current time, was also told she could face a fine of up to 5,000 pounds for any further offences.
Westminster City Council said the case was unlikely to go to court.
'We take the issue of noise pollution very seriously and treat every case alike and fairly, regardless of who owns the property concerned,' said councillor Ed Argar, cabinet member for city management.
'If people want to hold a party, regardless of the time of day or night, they need to show some common courtesy to their neighbours, who should not have to pay the price for others' selfish behaviour.'

What we see is what surrounded them while in the process of putting together perfect images, the atmosphere, the mood, Madonna, are preciously framed out of 'the' picture.

Madonna's wild horse plan

Madonna ran afoul of officials on the East End when she started building a horse fence on the 30-acre Bridgehampton spread she bought from Kelly Klein in February and renamed Wild Horses Farms.
Although Madonna owns the land, the town of Southampton and Suffolk County own the property's development rights. Wild Horses received a cease-and-desist letter from the county on Wednesday 07 July, and two days later, Madonna's company filed an application for permission to complete the fence. A committee will review her plea on Tuesday 27 July.

Dolce & Gabbana AW10/11 Campaign Images

Dolce & Gabbana have revealed the seven images that comprise the AW10/11 advertising campaign that was shot by Steven Klein.

The pictures and story can be viewed at dolcegabbana.com and swide.com

The much expected advertising campaign starring Madonna and shot by Steven Klein for AW10/11 is revealed in full.
Steven Klein captured frames of life, entered the home of a proud family, and put Madonna at the heart of it, breathing dignity and poise.
Scenes that evoke tenderness, at times true happiness found in moments we capture in an impromptu, or a profound sense of pride and solidarity between family members.
Madonna is the light at the centre of the family axis, she is the story, the point of gravity to which all other members attract.
She is cajoled, protected, glorified, her sun-touched hair piercing through the black and white background.
An incredible way to swift through a tale and start thinking of winter with a sense of warmth.

Extras' interest for Madonna's film directing debut

Members of the London Welsh Centre have rushed for the chance to be cast as extras in a film directed by Madonna.
W.E., explores two parallel love stories, including that of Edward VIII and the American divorcee for whom he abdicated in 1936, Wallis Simpson.
It is understood one scene features Edward's shock at living conditions in Welsh mining villages.
Shooting for W.E. - which started this week - takes place in the UK, France and the US.
The opportunity to appear in a Madonna film attracted plenty of interest from London Welsh Centre members.
A spokesperson for the centre, which was contacted by a casting agency, said: 'I've had about 15 phone calls this morning, and yesterday was bedlam because everybody wants to be in a film with Madonna.'
The centre said Welsh-speakers were needed as extras to create scenes based on Edward's visits to the south Wales valleys in the 1930s.
Edward could not marry a divorcee so abdicated in 1936 Edward toured Welsh mining communities during his reign, and is said to have been sympathetic to the miners and their families, exclaiming: 'Something must be done'.
This was said to have caused unease in government circles with his comments interpreted as interference in political matters.
Edward is the only British sovereign to abdicate voluntarily, when he stepped down to marry Simpson.
This was because as king and supreme governor of the Church of England, he could not marry a divorcee.
It caused a personal and political storm which caused a crisis in the monarchy.
However, the relationship of Edward and Simpson is only part of the film's plot.
W.E. features a modern-day parallel story in which Australian actress Abbie Cornish plays a New Yorker who becomes obsessed with Edward's decision to abdicate for his lover.

Madonna film seeks museum help for Wallis film

A wedding outfit on show at a Scottish museum is to take a starring role in a film being directed by Madonna.
She has asked for the dress for her directorial feature debut, W.E., about Edward VIII's wife Wallis Simpson.
The outfit is currently part of a Marriage in the Movies exhibition at the National Museum of Costume at Shambellie House near Dumfries.
The dress was worn by Joely Richardson, who starred in the 2005 television production Wallis and Edward.
The outfit was designed by Michael O'Connor and will be worn by actress Andrea Riseborough, who will play Wallis Simpson in the film co-written by Madonna.
National Museums Scotland has agreed to release the dress, which had been due to remain on display until October this year.
It will be sent to the film set on Monday.
National Museum of Costume general manager Margaret Roberts said they had been happy to send the dress to Madonna.
'Our Marriage in the Movies exhibition is packed with fabulous gowns that tell a story not only about the history of the period they represent, but also of Hollywood glamour and style,' she said.
'This is a dress that was made for the movies, so when we received the request from Madonna's production company, we were only too happy to oblige.'
Marriage in the Movies runs until 31 October.

W.E Press Release

Madonna’s directorial feature debut started principal photography on Monday 05 July.
Based on an original screenplay, 'W.E', a film written by Madonna and Alek Keshishian is set to begin shooting this summer in Europe (UK and France) and the US.
'W.E' tells two parallel love stories separated by more than six decades. Acclaimed actress Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch, Bright Star, Elizabeth: The Golden Age) has been cast in the role of Wally Winthrop - a young married New Yorker in 1998 who is obsessed with what she perceives as the ultimate romantic love story, King Edward V111’s abdication for his love of Wallis Simpson. Andrea Riseborough has been cast in the role of Wallis Simpson.
Riseborough is best known for her outstanding Bafta Nominated performance of Margaret Thatcher in the acclaimed BBC drama 'The Long Walk to Finchley' and will soon be seen in Brighton Rock. British star James D’Arcy (Master and Commander, Secret Diary of a Call Girl) will play the part of Edward VIII. Wally Winthrop”s Russian love interest Evgeni will be played by rising star Oscar Isaac (Robin Hood, Sucker Punch) and her husband William will be played by Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time).
Art imitates life as the revered British acting dynasty provides father and son, James Fox (Sherlock Holmes, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Bafta nominated A Passage to India, Bafta winner The Servant) and Laurence Fox (Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Becoming Jane) in the roles of King George V and his son, Bertie.

1936 England - Wallis Simpson, an American woman, captured the heart of King Edward VIII. Already divorced and married to her second husband when she met Edward, then the Prince of Wales in London, the two fell in love. However, once crowned, Edward was told by the Church and the Prime Minister that he could not marry Wallis and remain King… He abdicated, giving up the throne to be with the woman he loved. Once married and known as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, they lived out what many considered to be the romance of the century.

1998 N.Y - Wally Winthrop has a troubled past and moves to New York from the South to work in Sotheby’s Estate department. She gives up her job to marry a successful psychiatrist but the marriage is unhappy and Wally finds herself bored, frustrated and often alone. She seeks refuge in her obsession with what she believes to be the ultimate romantic love story, King Edward VIII ‘s abdication for his love of Wallis Simpson.
When Wally discovers that there is going to be an auction of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor’s Estate at Sotheby’s, she takes the opportunity to return to her old hunting ground to try to understand the nature of the great love affair through the artifacts that once belonged to the couple. While at Sotheby’s, Wally meets Evgeni, a Russian security guard, with a mysterious past. As she immerses herself deeper into the love story of Wallis and Edward, while spending more time away from her marriage, she finds herself falling in love.

We travel back and forth in time with Wally and Wallis, two fragile but determined women whose lives become inextricably linked. However, as the story unravels it becomes apparent that Wallis Simpson’s life was not as perfect as Wally had thought.

The film will be produced by Colin Vaines (producer Coriolanus, exec producer London Boulevard, The Gangs of New York and The Young Victoria) with Executive Producers Kris Thykier (producer The Debt, Kick-Ass, Harry Brown, exec producer Stardust) and Nigel Wooll (exec producer Miss Potter, co-producer GI Jane, White Squall).
The production team include Production Designer Martin Childs (Oscar Winner Shakespeare in Love, Oscar Nominated Quills, The Boy in Striped Pyjamas), Director of Photography, Hagen Bogdanski (The Lives of Others, The Young Victoria), Costume Designer, Arianne Phillips (Oscar Nominated Walk the Line, Bafta Nominated A Single Man) and Hair and Make Up Designer - Jenny Shircore (Oscar Winner Elizabeth, Bafta Winner and Oscar Nominated The Young Victoria).

Meet Madonna's 17 year-old Dolce & Gabbana co-star

The 17 year-old model Max Schneider who features in the Autumn/Winter campaign with Madonna for Dolce & Gabbana has spoken out about what it was like to meet and work with Madonna on the photoshoot:

It was very comfortable. She walked in the room, and I’m a big Madonna fan so I was expecting it to be nervewracking but she walked in and it was totally fine. I felt like her son for the day, I was supposed to be her son in the ad campaign actually.
She was just so nice to me, it wasn’t like I was some random kid, she really treated me with respect and I truly respected her for that. She’s such a superstar but she treats you as though you’re on the same level. It was really incredible and she’s just a very nice, sweet person. I was pleasantly surprised.
