Celebration: CD and DVD Tracklisting
Wednesday, 26 August 2009
The 'Celebration Video Collection DVD' will include unedited and never before seen footage of 'Justify My Love' along with 27 Madonna videos to be released on a DVD compilation for 'the very first time' including 'Into The Groove' and 'Give It 2 Me' as well as the just completed video of Madonna’s new single 'Celebration.'
Madonna clearly continues to rule the dance floor with her latest single. Her 'Celebration' Remix EP is #1 on iTunes Dance Album chart as well as #1 on the Masterbeat overall chart. The song is #5 on Billboard’s Club Singles Chart and the Greatest Gainer for the second week in a row. If 'Celebration' reaches #1 on Billboard’s Club Single Chart, it would be Madonna’s 40th! #1 Club single - the most of any artist in the history of the Billboard Club Singles Chart.
On the international front so far, the 'Celebration' single is already #1 in Italy and Holland, #2 in Japan and is Top 5 airplay in every other major market.
Another newly recorded song, 'Revolver' featuring Lil Wayne is also included on the 'Celebration' CD. Artwork for the packaging of the CD and DVD was designed by renowned street pop artist 'Mr. Brainwash.'
Currently on tour in Europe with her sold out 'Sticky & Sweet' Tour, the multi-Grammy winning Rock and Roll Hall of Famer with the highest grossing tour in history for a Female Artist, is scheduled to end her tour with her final show in Israel on September 2nd.

From Madonna.com
Why oh why, are 'Everybody', 'Burning Up', 'Miles Away' & 'Hollywood' on this collection instead of 'This Used To Be My Playground', 'True Blue', 'Deeper And Deeper', 'Give It 2 Me', 'Angel' & 'You'll See'!!!!?? I'm sorry but look at the disastrous packaging and track listing from the poor selling GHV2 and learn a lesson. I am sure this will be a hit album, but nowhere near as big as it could be as there are too many tracks that are not known by people other than devotees of Madonna.

Hmm...
CD: I would swap out Hollywood, Revolver, and Miles Away for Deeper and Deeper, I'll Remember. and This Used to be My Playground. Seriously, no This Used to be My Playground? The song hit #1 (in the US) and it's not even included.
DVD: The fact that American Life is excluded by Love Profusion, which is arguably the worst music video ever made, is included, is a travesty. And Miles Away?? Seriously? And Bad Girl, one of the her best videos, is excluded. And no Oh Father? Ugh!
And from what I've seen and heard, the Celebration video will follow in the lines of the terrible videos she's made since Hollywood (probably her last good video).

Well, im very pleased with the tracklist of both videos and songs, the only videos that i was expecting to see there were, the original of American life which is amazing, and Dress you up from the Virgin tour.. Im not complaining for the absence of other videos which most of them were previously released on Madonna's Immaculate Collection and the other greatest hits videos compilation because i have them both. So as a huge Madonna fan for more than 25 years, i certainly will add Celebration to my personal collection..:D

As for the CD, would love to see "Give it 2 me, deeper & deeper, rain and i'll remember" instead of "miles away, hollywood, beautiful stranger and crazy for you". I also think Causing a Commotion, True Blue, Hanky Panky, Love Profusion, Get Together, Jump, You Must Love Me, Human Nature and Angel" coulda been on there. Though a 3 CD set would have been a more appropriate choice.

Bad Girl. Oh Father. Drowned World (Substitute For Love). Get Together.......just to name a few....... Perhaps Madonna and Warner should add another disc or two in order to truly sum up an amazing career!!!!

Woulda happily have traded "Lucky Start, Crazy for You, Live To Tell, La Isla Bonita, Get Together, Jump, Miles Away and Give it 2 Me" for "American Life, Dear Jessie, Oh Father, Nothing Really Matters, Bad Girl, Fever, You Must Love Me, This Used To Be My Playground, Drowned World" videos
Posted by: Christine | Friday, 28 August 2009 at 01:33 AM
her greatest, most artistic video ever was "nothing really matters"!!!!
how can they not put it on the dvd????

I'm disappointed but not surprised that the American Life video is missing - although it could be a hidden bonus track, we shall have to wait and see.
No compilation is going to satisfy everyone, it would take 4 CDs to cover all her singles and that's not commercially viable; overall this represents her career quite well. The DVD is so packed that I can't see why only a handful of videos were left off... but it's still a must-buy.
And quit the complaining about Miles Away!!! It's a gorgeous song, easily the best on Hard Candy. I don't care if it flopped, I think it's far more worthy of inclusion than Deeper and Deeper or Causing A Commotion.

What is with all these negative comments..chill out, you can`t possibly put every single track on a G.H album. No offense but i think everybody has their favourites...so really..she was never gonna please everybody. I think i`ll just buy and ENJOY!! :)

human nature isn't on there? oh my god I didn't notice. This tracklistin is quite crap actually. Couldn't she have squeezed one more track on each CD, surely?
Posted by: Paris | Thursday, 27 August 2009 at 05:24 PM
my thoughts exactly... Bad Girl is one of my fave videos, it's one of her best! I'm surprised This Used To Be My Playground is not on the dvd as well as Nothing Really Matters, Oh Father & throw in a bonus of American Life uncencored ... i if she wanted us to have the entire collection. Fans are devoted - she shouldnt care if people want to boycott the dvd becuz of AL - HER FANS WON'T ;)
ANYWAY.... I'M EXCITED, nonetheless!

Miles Away on the DVD?
There wasn't an official video, was there? ^^
(it probably is just a live version I guess)
And you guys are right!!! There should be the official (quickly removed) video of American Life!

Only ONE track from 'Erotica' (wot no Deeper & Deeper?!) but FIVE from 'Madonna' and 'Miles Away' on there? WHY? MADONNA? WHY?????? That track is TOILET and FAILED, mate. Where's 'This Used To Be My Playground'? 'You'll See'? 'I'll Remember'? Tsk...
Posted by: Phil | Thursday, 27 August 2009 at 02:15 PM
A bit dissapointing that this is not exactly the ultimate collection that could have been.
On the CD American Life, The Power of Goodbye and Bedtime Stories are missing for nor apparent reason. Also the Erotica album is represented by only one song (Erotica).
On the DVD some of her best videos are missing as well: American Life, Bad Girl, Fever, Oh Father and Nothing Really Matters. Instead we have Miles Away and Give it to me....

What about Human Nature and Deeper and Deeper? Those are quintessential Madonna tracks!
Posted by: Raquin | Thursday, 27 August 2009 at 09:18 AM
i had the hope that this compilation would give us the original version "masterpiece" video of American life. It is a shame that it didn't happened. Miles away????? the video made from live footage??? aghhhhh that sucks, Nothing Really Matters is another great video that should be in, but finally is not a big deal beacuse we got the other videos from the videocollection 93-99. On the other hand, I think Revolver is a horrible song, well I only had listened to the demo on youtube and i don't like it at all. Where is the other Oakenfold track?
Posted by: heku | Thursday, 27 August 2009 at 06:11 AM
Its a good list. Some omissions: Angel, Causing A Commotion, Keep It Together, American Life (but it has American Pie?), This Used To Be My Playground. Can't Belive it's gonna have Crazy For You and Live To Tell, will the movies At Close Range and Vision Quest be edited out of the videos??
Posted by: Tony | Thursday, 27 August 2009 at 05:52 AM
NO American Life on the DVD??? We never got the chance to watch that video, well the edited (boring) version with all the flags but I wanted the uncensored version, the one that cause all the controversy.
And yes, it says 27 videos on the tracklist but I checked Madonna.com, Warner, MTV and all 47 videos on the DVD... so we'll see.
As for the songs, Madonna has to many hits for only two cd's. It would take like four discs to include all (or almost all) her hits. So I kind of knew that I was gonna miss some good tracks. But don't get me wrong, it's a great compilation... a must have!

WHERE GOING MY FAVOURITE VIDEO?NOTHING REALLY MATTER,FEVER,BAD GIRL,I WANT YOU,DROWNED WORLD SUBSITUTE FOR LOVE?
Posted by: NAZRIN BIN NAPIAH | Thursday, 27 August 2009 at 03:50 AM

Posted by: LALO | Thursday, 27 August 2009 at 03:23 AM
NO AMERICAN LIFE?????
I Love you Madonna, and you can leave it out of the CD comp, that's fine, I understand that..... But the VIDEO??? Where is your FIGHTING SPIRIT........Otherwise I'm impressed.
(disappointed) but impressed
