Madonna's Greatest Hits Album to Include New Songs
Wednesday, 18 March 2009
'We're hoping to have a greatest hits package come out in September,' the singer's longtime publicist, Liz Rosenberg, tells PEOPLE. 'We're all very excited about it.'
With so many hit songs to choose from over her long career, the singer's manager, Guy Oseary, asked fans on Twitter Tuesday which tunes they think should be included. 'Working on Madonna's greatest hits album,' he wrote. 'Any tracks that you think MUST be on?'
Still, the new album won't only feature songs her fans know and love. 'Madonna does have plans to go into the studio to record a few new songs for this album,' says Rosenberg.
The greatest hits album will be Madonna's last with Warner Records, with whom she sold more than 200 million albums. In October 2007, she ended her 27-year relationship with the label when she signed a reported $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation.

Is there any information regarding how many discs this Greatest Hits package is going to be? If WARNER BROS. has any sense it will be a career retrospective 4 disc set of all of her officially released 7" singles with the CORRECT A-SIDE. It should begin with the 7" EDIT of "Everybody" (3:58) and should include all of the NON-US 7" singles such as "Burning Up" (7" EDIT/3:56), "Physical Attraction" (7" EDIT/3:58), "Into The Groove" (SINGLE VERSION/4:47), "Spotlight" (7" EDIT/4:37), "Fever" (7" EDIT/4:31), and "Bye Bye Baby" (LP VERSION/3:59). From 1994 "I'll Remember" forward all songs except "Another Suitcase In Another Hall" were released in the US or are available on a soundtrack CD in its complete/correct A-SIDE form. Let's hope WARNER BROS. has the official listings for all the CORRECT A-SIDES - send them to me if they need any HELP! If anyone from WARNER BROS. or Guy Oseary sees this, put the (7" EDIT) of "Lucky Star" on this Greatest Hits package - THE WHOLE WORLD ALREADY HAS THE LP VERSION!
