Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour continues to be an enormous success. Billboard Boxscore have just published the official and confirmed concert stats for the recent North American concerts (New York City, Toronto, Chicago, Montreal, Vancouver, Oakland, Boston and East Rutherford).

These 16 North American concerts posted in Billboard Boxscore have grossed $45,878,544 and attracted an audience of 285,596 people. Added with the $116,029,569 in grosses and 939,990 people from the European leg of the tour, the tour so far grossed an incredible $161,908,113 and played to an audience of 1,225,586 people.
There are still 25 shows left to be reported to Billboard Boxscore. Although this tour is not over yet, it has already surpassed the 1,210,294 people that attracted the 2006 Confessions Tour. This tour will easily outgross the solo artist record breaking $194,754,447 concert grosses that was grossed on the Confessions Tour.

Madonna's Miles Away remixes were leaked online this week and are being illegally downloaded and shared. In an attempt to curtail the activity, Warner Music has made the unprecedented move to exclusively offer the leaked remixes to the online dance music retailer, Masterbeat.com.
Warner chose to partner with Masterbeat because the niche retailer was able to make the remixes for sale immediately, as opposed to retail giants, who require weeks to offer items for sale.

Madonna says she was 'Japanese warrioress' in previous life

Madonna has revealed that she thinks she must have been a 'Japanese warrioress' in her previous birth.
The 'Material' hit maker said that she had always been a fighter and thus, traces herself to a 'Samurai' past.
'I must have been Japanese in another life. I'm pretty sure I was a warrioress,' the Sun quoted her as saying on a TV show.
'I can't explain it, I just know. I'm good at fighting - fighting with a big sword,' she added.

Madonna: It's time to say 'I do' to gay marriage

Pop star Madonna said it was a shame the United States could put a black man in the White House but not allow same-sex marriage, rocking on her world tour with guests Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
Voters approved a proposal in Tuesday's presidential elections which amended the California's constitution to say that only marriages between men and women are recognized in the state.
The decision came only six months after California's Supreme Court overturned a previous ban on same-sex marriage, paving the way for thousands of gay and lesbian couples to tie the knot in the state.
'If we can elect an African-American as president, we can support gay marriage!,' Madonna shouted to 20,000 fans at Dodger Stadium late Thursday, referring to president-elect Barack Obama. 'Defeat Prop 8! We will not give up!'.
'I am sorry we did not win Proposition 8. If we can have an African-American in the White House, we can have gay marriage,' insisted the 50-year-old pop star.

Madonna denies late-night studio sessions

Madonna's representative has hit back at reports the pop superstar is keeping her New York neighbours up all night with her noisy studio sessions, insisting the singer enjoys early bed times.
Fellow residents have allegedly been complaining about the noise level coming from her seventh floor residence, which she has converted into a recording studio.
They claim the singer has been practising into the early hours in preparation for her ongoing Sticky & Sweet tour.
A source tells the New York Daily News, 'They asked her for a schedule of when she would practice, but she hasn't adhered to it.'
'The music is playing at all hours of the night, and the noise from the drums and the bass blares through the walls.'
But Madonna's spokesperson has refuted the allegations, dismissing the claims as false.
The rep says, 'Madonna does not stay up till all hours of the night....so I can't imagine there is any validity to this story. She needs her rest. She's a working girl, you know.'

Men are able to sustain a career into their 50s and 60s and still present themselves as sex symbols. With women on the other hand, people say, 'Why doesn't she retire?' It's just so unfair. Lighting and technical difficulties nearly stop the show

Madonna isn't going to let lighting and technical issues keep her from performing at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
A statement from her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, says construction of the singer's stage came to a halt Wednesday due to an equipment malfunction.
Although damage to the top of the stage created several lighting and technical issues, Madonna decided to go ahead with Thursday night's show.
In an e-mail to The Associated Press, Madonna says: 'Even though my stage roof was damaged and some lights and effects aren't working, I want to do the show anyway because I don't want to disappoint my fans.'

Madonna backs Obama

Madonna has joined the legion of music figures to celebrate Barack Obama's historic victory in the US Presidential election.
The pop superstar called last night's events 'the best day of my life', after John McCain was roundly defeated by the Democratic candidate.
Speaking from the stage at a show in California's Petco Park on Tuesday evening, she described his win as the 'beginning of a whole new world'.
'Are you as happy as I am? Let's hear it for Obama. It's the best day of my life', Madonna is reported to have told fans.
The singer was amongst the many vocal supporters of George W Bush's successor and a bitter rival of McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin.
