Madonna's life story to be subject of comic book

Madonna will soon find herself in a whole new material world: the pages of a comic book.
The star will have her life story told in 32 pages by Bluewater Productions Inc., the latest celebrity to be part of its semi-regular line of 'Female Force' comics, the publisher said Thursday.
'Our goal is to show the little-known events and influences that resulted in Madonna becoming the phenomenon she remains to this day, more than a quarter-century after she burst upon the scene,' said Jason Schultz, Bluewater's executive vice president. 'A visual medium provides perspective that is not only accessible but more relatable to the average person without losing any of the information involved.'
The one-shot issue - due out in August for $3.99 and written by C.W. Cooke and drawn by Michael Johnson - will look at her life as it transformed from a little-known singer into a multimillion-record-selling entertainer and trendsetter.
'Most pop stars owe everything to this woman. It's amazing all of the things that she's done in her lifetime, and I have a feeling that this is still only the beginning,' Cooke said of Madonna.
The issue joins a growing collection of similar titles from the Vancouver, Wash.-based publisher. Previous subjects in the 'Female Force' series that have included Betty White, Michelle Obama, Barbara Walters, Sarah Palin and Margaret Thatcher, among others.

Guy Oseary's Sticky & Sweet Photography Book

Following the critical success of Madonna: Confessions, the powerHouse team, Madonna, and Guy Oseary return with a knockout punch: Sticky & Sweet, a dynamic look at Madonna’s celebrated Sticky & Sweet Tour, which broke all previous records and became the number-one highest grossing tour of any solo artist ever - with Madonna playing before 2,350,282 fans and selling over 280 million dollars’ worth of tickets. News on the Red Collection sale

Our friends at the Red Collection are currently having a sale to clear the shelves for some brand new products later this year. These great quality prints look wonderful framed and are a great collectable from the Sticky & Sweet Tour (and from the Confessions Tour):

Due to temporary staff shortage we have taken the decision to temporarily suspend online trading from February 2009. We currently have a clearance sale; all items are now drastically reduced in price. We will be using this period offline to regroup and reassess our products and services, which include the opening of a new high street gallery and photographic studio.

The Red Collection will be re-launched and re-branded in mid-2009 along with its sister company ‘the Red Connection’, which will be run from our new premises. All of our current limited editions will continue to be sold until the stated quantity of stocks has been exhausted. Because some of our new Gold Collection photographic prints which were previously available as limited editions have not sold, we have re-graded these to unlimited editions, which are more affordable to more people.
This applies only to those limited edition items for which no sale has been made – any limited edition item where at least one copy has been sold will not be re-graded in keeping with our limited edition policy, your investment in a limited edition collectible is not effected. We can assure past and future customers that any limited editions supplied by us remain limited to the quantities originally stated.

Limited Edition Lithographs now from only £25.00 and 12x8 Photographs from only £15. Don't forget that your 15% madonnalicious discount code can be used on top of these new clearance prices. Limited Edition prints from the Red Collection

Last year madonnalicious brought you news of the Red Collection, a UK art company and its debut collection of art prints based on Madonna’s Confessions Tour. Ged Janczuk, photographer, designer and founder of the company says 'Last years collection was very much a labour of love which started a year earlier, each design went through about a dozen proof stages before the final version.'
When asked about the creative process behind the designs he says '70s music, especially Disco, is one of my favourite genres, so I was overwhelmed with the Confessions album and tour. The whole time that I was designing I was listening to a lot of 1970s LPs. I suppose a lot of the catchier dance-floor sounds influenced my mood. That collection was very colourful and very busy with lots of swishes and swirls. One piece in the collection Let Me Be Your Guide was the figurehead of the collection, with the swooshing lines I incorporated a lot of stars, planets and nebulae.'
'It was my homage to Madonna, 70’s disco and the beauty of the universe. I envisioned Madonna traveling through the universe creating a wondrous world of light and sound around her, the line from Future Lovers seemed so apt and the rest of the collection grew from there.'

This week saw the launch of the 2009 Madonna Collection – utilizing exclusive photos by the Red Collection from the Sticky & Sweet Tour. The new collection is quite different from the last - being sharper, more dynamic – and very iconic!

The 4 designs are 12 x 12 inches (approx 30cm) which makes framing easy. They are limited to a mere 100 copies each, printed using the lithographic process on heavy archive quality paper with a high gloss finish, discreetly hand numbered and embossed with a 3D seal of authenticity.

madonnalicious visitors are being given the chance to pre-order these artworks now with a 15% discount. Prints can be ordered separately or as a complete collection. The 4 new prints are titled 'Savage', 'Zephyr', 'Attitude' and 'Sugar'. To claim your 15% discount enter discount code: madonnalicious during checkout at www.theredcollection.com
