Madonna moves to Lisbon as son joins Benfica youth academy

Madonna has reportedly moved to Lisbon after her 11-year-old son David Banda joined the Benfica football team youth academy.

The Portuguese weekly magazine Visão reported: 'Madonna is no longer a tourist, she now lives in Lisbon.' It republished several pictures from Madonna’s Instagram account that show her visiting Portugal over the past couple of months.

The singer has been staying in a Lisbon hotel after buying a house in the resort of Sintra, 17 miles (27km) north-east of the Portuguese capital.

The 19th-century building was put up for sale for €7.5m (£7m) and could take about six months to renovate, according to Visão.

David Banda, who Madonna adopted from Malawi in 2006, has joined the Benfica training centre in Seixal, Correio da Manhã reported.

The club accepted David Banda after his first test in the spring. He will stay at the academy until starting at a French high school in Lisbon, the newspaper reported, quoting a source close to Benfica.

Rumours about a possible move began when Madonna was spotted at the school in May. She joins celebrities including John Malkovich, Monica Bellucci and Michael Fassbender in owning a home in Lisbon.

The city has enjoyed a cultural renaissance in recent years and is regarded by many as hip, cheap and innovative.

Madonna does not want to be videotaped in deposition

Madonna is going to court Tuesday. Last month, the pop star sued her former friend Darlene Lutz and the Manhattan auction house Gotta Have It! Collectibles to stop the sale of 22 of her personal items, including her underwear, a hairbrush still containing her hair, cassette tapes of unreleased recordings, and personal letters from the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

In an August 10 letter, Jones wrote that she wanted to protect her client based on her celebrity status and visibility.

'Given the intense media interest in this case, we are concerned that a protective order would be inadequate to protect the privacy interests of the individual parties,' she wrote.

Judd countered with the following in an e-mail statement to Vanity Fair (V.F. also reached out to Madonna’s legal representation):

'Madonna filed this very public lawsuit containing numerous accusations against Defendants without seeking any confidentiality,' Grossman said in an e-mail to Vanity Fair. 'Now that it is Defendants’ turn to test those allegations under cross-examination, for the first time Madonna wants these proceedings to be conducted in secret. Her celebrity status is no reason to treat her differently than any other party who walks through the courthouse doors.'

There will be a hearing concerning this matter on Monday.

Since last month, Lutz—who, per Time Madonna identified as 'a former friend, art consultant, and frequent overnight guest' - has remained adamant that Madonna gave her the items put up at auction willingly. Lutz’s legal team maintains that these items are now their client’s 'legal property.'

'As a result of my close relationship with Plaintiff, I received certain ephemera directly from her,' Lutz said in the court documents, per the New York Daily News last month. 'I also had a close friendship with several of Plaintiffs family members, during that time, and I received various items directly from them.'

Madonna celebrates son’s 17th birthday with throwback picture

Madonna has wished her second eldest child Rocco Ritchie a happy birthday as he turned 17.

The pop star marked the special occasion by posting a sweet throwback picture of her son on Instagram as a toddler.

She wrote: 'Happy Birthday to my Beautiful Boy! You are my Son-Shine! 17 years went by too fast!'

A second picture shared with her 9.8 million followers on the social networking site showed Rocco - whose father is director Guy Ritchie - doing work for the singer’s charitable organisation Raising Malawi.

She wrote: 'So Proud of you Rocco!!'

Rocco was born on August 11 2000, a few months before Madonna and Ritchie married. They divorced in 2008.

Last year, they were locked in a bitter custody dispute over Rocco, who remained in London with his father after visiting the UK on Madonna’s world tour.

Madonna Teases Super-Luxe Clay Mask That’s Nearly Impossible to Get

Madonna wants us all to have skin as ageless as hers.

The singer’s six-product MDNA Skin line isn’t yet available in the United States, but that hasn’t stopped the Queen of Pop from teasing her social media followers with her favorite products. On Friday, she shared a video of herself getting the MDNA Chrome Clay Mask slathered on her face with a conventional butter knife.

On her Instagram story, which is seriously worth a look, her facialists continue to apply the mask and then remove it, all at the Material Girl’s instruction. Naturally, because this is Madonna, she also sings while it’s all happening.

The mask is a super-luxe concoction worthy of Madonna (and of the pop star inside everyone). Its active ingredient is volcanic clay from Montecatini Terme in Tuscany, the Italian town known as a wellness-spa destination. Unlike the typical dry-then-crack clay mask, MDNA’s version reportedly stays creamy when applied. It’s also technologically savvy. The clay is magnetized, so you remove it by dragging a magnetic brush over your face. No rinsing necessary. And it just looks impressive. The best part? The mask stays on for only five minutes. It must have been designed either for rushed mornings or for the busy schedule of the world’s most famous music icon.

Madonna herself demonstrated the magnet-removal innovation last year on Instagram. 'You want this product. I want this product,' she said.

Aside from the mask and its removal device, the line includes a face wash, serum, rose mist, eye mask, and a not-yet-released eye serum. All products have prestige prices, from $4,860 Japanese yen (about US$43) for the face wash and 62,640 yen (about US$567) for the mask and regenerator set.

Madonna has been teasing the U.S. release of the mask for months, but for now, all MDNA Skin products are available only in Japan. Does anyone we know have a Japanese vacation and a large suitcase?
